Looking for new vehicle
I bet you thought this was going to be about a new TV? I won't be giving up my Dodge for a long time, it's our VW Routan. We are looking at trading it in for either a Ford Edge, Dodge Journey, GMC Acadia or Toyota Highlander. We are leaning towards the Ford but was wondering if any of you MOCers had any experience with any of my choices?
Thanks in advance.

We rented an Edge some years ago and liked it fine. More recently rented a Highlander in Alaska and really enjoyed it. Good ride, good handling. Good luck!

We went and looked at the GMC Acadia and the Chevy and Buick version, however Delaine just didn't like the rear window. She then drove the 2011 Chevy Tahoe and thats the end of the Story. Larger safer, and thats what she wanted. Game over.... I or we only buy GM so I can't help with the others. Good Luck on your decision... Happy Trails...

Our friends have the 2011 Edge Limited and love it. We have ridden in it a couple of times and were very comfortable. Two years ago, when we bought our Routan, I tested the Edge and Journey. As a retiree from VW I felt compelled to buy the product that is paying my retirement. After two years of problems. it's time to move on before the warranty runs out. Keep the info coming and thanks.

If you want a good explanation of all facets of various vehicles, check the April issue of Consumer Reports. I know some don't like them...and I don't either when they get on a political rant...but the April issue is all autos and the maintenance reports are taken from surveys returned by owners.

We have a 2010 highlander. Love it. 18 months 21,000 miles not a single problem. Rides nice plenty of power fair mileage. My son has acadia has a little more room he loves it but has had a few problems with it under waranty though. Highlander seems a little more nimble but acadia does have slightly more room esp. in 3rd row seating.

I did subscribe to Consumer Reports and found the April issue very interesting. Unfortunately we have had to put our new car purchase on hold for awhile. Thanks for all the suggestions.
