Cleaning the underside of the awning
This past weekend I put out the awning on our Monty and discovered that even after making sure all was dry the last time we used it that it was almost dripping wet and has mold spots all over on it. We have had an extremely wet spring here so no surprise there. Just wondering what some of you have used to successfully clean the awning back up before it gets beyond help.
Thanks

I use a small amount of diluted bleach, just on the brush, do not let it dry and rinse quickley.

I also use some diluted bleach but I roll the awning up after I get it wet, leave for five minutes then open and rinse both sides with a lot of water right away. Then I use a brush and more water to clean off the loose stuff.

We use Tilex mold and mildew remover and a long handle brush. It works quickly. Then rinse off quickly.

I cleaned ours last week with a mixture of one half cup of bleach to a gallon of water and some Dawn. Sprayed it on with a pump up sprayer, rolled up awning for 15 minutes and rinsed both sides. It looks great.

Thanks for all the good ideas, just wasn't sure if using bleach would hurt the awning.

I use the Wal Mart awning cleaner, spray it on, roll up the awning, sit for awhile, roll it back out, get under it with safety glasses and a long-handeld brush and work on the remaining "tough" spots. Once or twice a year and it will always look like new.

Caution watch that the bleach does not run on to the grass.

Or that the bleach doesn't get on the decent shirt that your DW said "Are you SURE you want to wear that good shirt?" Need I say more?
