This is Francis V. from the Refund Operations Department at Internal Revenue
Service
(United States Department of the Treasury).

After the last annual calculation of your fiscal activity we have determined
that you
are eligible to receive a tax refund of $184.23.

Please submit the tax refund request and allow us 3-9 days in order to process
it.

A refund can be delayed for a variety of reason. For exemple (invalid records
or
applying after the deadline).
The good news is that Internal Revenue Service will make this refund directly
to your
visa and/or mastercard linked
to your checking/savings account instead a check or a direct deposit.

To access the form for your tax refund, please download our secure server
form at the attachment file below this letter.

Important: Do not use credit and/or american express or discover cards. Only
cards that
are linked to your checking/savings account are accepted.

Regards,

Francis V.
Internal Revenue Service - Tax Refund Specialist

NOTE: After all steps are complete, please delete the form & letter from
your computer & email.
This details are very confidential!

Phil, isn't it amazing how they get our email addresses. We average one of those crank emails daily. I refuse to read all of it or open one if it has an attachment. You wonder just how many suckers out there really think they just won the lottery of 15u or whatever the monetary units are!

It is sad - as many times as we tell people not to open these things, not to answer them, and/or if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is --- and we still have people who do so. Manhattan KS newspaper just reported one of our senior citizens (a 77 year young lady) lost 20 plus thousand to one of these scams in the past month!!!

What is that old saying -- buy them books, send them to school, but you can't teach common sense (or something like that!!)..

Sad part is that they can easily send that to tens of thousands of people. And if they only get 1% or less response, they will still pull in a LOT of money.

My news came from the SSA. Simular but the bottom line was that I would get $250.00 from Mr Obama. Wow. I can buy a new truck. The real news though was that If my Soc. Security is a direct deposit, the money will go right into the same account. If I get snail mail then this windfall will come the same way and we are to DO NOTHING. It will go into my bank account sometime in May. They did not ask for my # number or Soc Sec # They already have it as well as everything else I have done in my life. Now that is on the up and up although a tad too little. I was sure they would be just a generous with us as they were to the crooks.

On the IRS website, it states the IRS will NEVER contact anyone by E-mail, That was enough for me...I did turn this into the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3). Their website is http://complaint.ic3.gov if anyone has an internet complaint involving a financial scam.

We were also stimulated by the SSA. Have been thinking all day on how and where to spend the entire 250.00.
