Hitch and Stitches club

I know I am not a charter member but I am now a member in good standing. 7 Stitches, from the nose left side down to the lip. Walked right into the hitch. Nice even cut ..the Doc said.."nice job"

The camper is in the middle of the driveway for cleaning upon our return from Florida. I pulled the truck off the hitch but could pull as far forward as I usually do . I always pull 20/30 feet forward.(dumb mistake 1) I always pull the truck along side the camper when it is in the middle of the driveway(dumb mistake 2) But with the camper forward of its usual place I just left the truck pulled up short so Helen could get in the garage(dumb mistake 3) I always pay attention to my surroundings. I know the hitch is there waiting to get me. How can I do something as stupid as walking into the hitch (dumb mistake 4) Note how dumb mistakes lead to disaster. Took something off the tailgate.. turned around...and walked directly into the hitch... OUCH.. Helen was off getting a Pizza. I calmly called and said...hurry on the Pizza we need to go to the ER.. She said ..be there in a few.. I said The bleeding should be stopped by then.
They made ME shave off MY Mustache..With a .99 cent Dollar general shaver..dry shave.. I said ..no way..the nurse said you do it or I do it... Hurt???? Try that sometime???

Any how it does not hurt..all I feel is Stupid..

Sorry to hear about your mishap. The lip will heal, the mustache will grow back, and the memory will be with you for ever.

Ouch! I could feel it here in Missouri. I have scars on my face and just consider them beauty spots.

Sorry you got hurt, but just think now you have war stories to tell about how you got that scar.

Sorry to hear about your mishap. I walked into the hitch once. I only got a knot on my head and a bruised ego. That is one reason I like the tripod. It keeps me from doing it again.

.........a charter member is when you do it twice in one day...don't ask how I know about charter members.

Thanks for the reminder.

Rich, hope all heals, quickly!

Way to go Rich, at least mine was under my cap so you couldn't see it. No stitches for me, they glued mine instead! You probably miss that mustache more than anything else. My grandson is 23 and he has never seen me without one, how long has it been since you saw your upper lip?
They say there are two kinds of people, those that have run into the hitch and those that will.

Sorry to here about the accident Rich, Hope it heals quickly. Ditto on the tri-pod statement above. It has saved me a couple of times over the years. Reminds me I need new noodles for the slide outs this year though.

Rich,
Just keep a stiff upper lip old boy!

And those noodles (not the noggin kind), the are also good to put around the lip of the king pin frame, then you just cuss a lot instead of having to go to the ER. Yes! I do know they work after an experience with them not in place. Stupid is me, as stupid me does.

Mustache since 1970, (I think) They would not super glue the upper lip. We ALWAYS put the tripod up, Had it up for 6 months in Florida. We ALWAYS use the noodles. The tripod was still the bed of the truck..the noodles in the compartment. My brain non operational. I did not do all those things that I ALWAYS do.. It was in my driveway..What can happen in your own driveway??? All I had to do was pay attention.. I ALWAYS pay attention.. It hurts when I laugh...So don't laugh says Helen.... I also have a bedsaver..But I ALWAYS pay attention. The noodles are on now, the truck is beside the camper..The horse is long gone... as is the stache...

Sorry about the accident... some (most) people learn the hard way. It won't be long and the "stache" will be back in place. Keep it clear around the area as they have to take those stitches out!!!
