Had a Mission tire blow yesterday on my 2007 3400RL, about 6000 miles on it. Can anyone tell me what the best replacement tire would be.

I wouldn't recommend any of the Chinese made tires but I would recommend the tires I put on my TV recently. Also Load Range E tires. Puchased them at Costco for around $700 total cost for four tires, balanced and installed. They were Michelins. Costco also sells BF Goodrich tires for this level of application. On our setup with a late 2006 Montana 3400RL & 2003 Ford F250 7.3L Diesel 4WD we have about 5000 lbs on each axle, truck and RV. Have been really impressed by the Michelins.

Trailbuff, I put 6 Michelin XPS Traction LT215-85R-16 LRE, per their online "select your tire" worksheet. Big benefit, at least here in Issaquah, Wa., they wanted my dually in at 0700. I was through and gone before the first car arrived in the parking lot. By the way, I love the tires, extra deep agressive tread and quiet.

I hesitate here to add additional information because the original question was about new tires for an RV. The Michelin LTX M/S tires on put on my 2003 F250 lariat Super Duty Super Cab 4X4 SRW were LT265/75R16/E 123/120R LRE. However, I don't think these are recommended for RV applications. But... I sure like them on the truck. The tire selector at Costco doesn't seem to recognize a F350 lariat Dually 4x4 in their selection process but here is the link:

http://tires.costco.com/TSSapp/TireL...html?cid=87422

I beleive 235's were used on Dually's.

PS: There was a sale on the tires I purchased so they are a bit more expensive now.

Regarding tire brand recommendations. It is a consensus that E Load Rated Goodyear Marathons or Michelins (I don't know the equivalent model name) are the highly rated trailer tires. There are others but I am stating the most popular replacement. Always pay attention to the date code and that the new tires match or exceed the load rating on your current tire..

Many 5er owners are opting for G-rated tires for their rigs to gain a little more advantage on weight and wear.

Thanks for the replies. I decided to go with the 235 85r 16 Goodyear G614's. I had four mounted and balanced and put on our 3400RL. With tax it was about $1100.00.
I wanted to go with the Michelin's but the axle weight on my rig is close to 12,000 lbs. So I went to the "G" range tires.

Regards,
Trailbuff

How long did Montana use the Mission tires? I beleive I've read they are now using another brand.
