Your Rebate Check

Your rebate check

How to use Your IRS Rebate check... As you may have heard, each of us (maybe) will be getting a tax rebate check to stimulate the economy.

If we spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China. If we spend it on gasoline it will go to the Arabs. If we purchase a computer it will go to India. If we purchase fruits and vegetables it will go to Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala. If we purchase a good car it will go to Japan. If we purchase useless stuff it will go to Taiwan and none of it will help the American economy.

We need to keep that money here in America . The only way to keep that money here at home is to spend it at yard sales, since those are the only businesses still in the United States

I did my share of boosting the economy yesterday. I went to pick the Monty up yesterday and the cost took care of what I'll get back from Uncle Sam. Glad its coming but I haven't got it yet. I suppose that spending it at the dealership is one way to keep it in America!

Well we Already spent it on a new Honda Accord lease. Some of it stayed here as they are built in Marysville, Ohio by folks from Ohio and contain 60% parts made in N.America so I assume that folks from N.America made the parts and got paid in N. American money. Of Course N.America includes Canada and Mexico and I think 23 total countries all the way down to Panama and they are all, from the USA perspective, foreign countries so maybe they don't count. Went to a yard up the street and most everything there was made in a foreign country. The best place for the rebate money is stuffed in the mattress..Check to see where that mattress was made. I think our US money is still made in the USA..Haven't checked recently.

I'll bet China could produce our money cheaper than we can?

China probably could produce our money cheaper...but it would contain lead.

We're going to spend ours on a pair of Old Town kayaks made in Old Town Maine. I hope there is no foreign outsourcing going on there.

Go to the farmer's market. At least you can support the local folks and the veggies are fresh.

I think I'll spend mine on some domestic beers and Jack Daniels and any other US made products. Atleast I know these are made here in the US and I can toast to all my brothers and sisters that made them while I'm enjoying my windfall. To bad I have to claim that windfall on next years taxes. Maybe I should save an extra hundred just for that too!

From what I understand you will not have to pay tax on the rebate checks!

Murf,
You sure have a way with words. Never thought about it but I would be open to that. I was born in the beer capital of the world, Milwaukee, WI.

Now, Rick, you know that's not what the govt wants you to do with that check... Why should they ever encourage the general public to use sound fiscal practices like what you are doing??? Are they afraid we'll teach our kids the proper way to handle money???

"Take your money and go out and spend every last dime as fast as possible!" That kind of thinking is why this country is in the credit mess it's in now.

WE will be putting ours in the savings account to help pay for the new roof on the stick house this August. The only draw back to what you planto do Rick is the price of diesel will make that CD worth about $4000 in today's money in 12 months.
