When is best time to buy a new Montana

I was about to order a new 3000RK with a good discount from my local dealer and was wondering if I should wait a little longer. With the economy the way it is I thought maybe sales would slow down and larger discounts or rebates might be offered. I would welcome any thoughts from anyone.

I think things are very un-predictable right now. In our area in general it seems that real estate has become a buyers market. With the cost of gas going up as it is I would think a person could find good deals or at least it would help in negotiating one as you mentioned.

If we could only see a $1.00 or even $2.00 a gal once again!

I will not try to predict the future of prices but do hope that you get it in time to show it to us at the 2008 MOC Fall Rally. (couldn't miss this opportunity for a rally plug)

When your wife lets you.
Seriously, I would think that by the end of summer with the price of fuel by then being over $4.50 to 5.00 that the RV industry will be hurting bad.

I've always thought the best time to buy an RV was around 10:47 AM

I would have thought that $4.00 diesel would have slowed it down but not so in the Kansas City area. I have been going to my dealer often to get parts for my mods and each time I have been there someone was there that had just purchased a unit. He told me the pass 3 months have been the best since he has been in business. He said he has a hard time keeping a Montana on the lot and hopes to have one to bring to the Branson rally. I went from Kansas City to St.Louis and back Monday and boy there were plenty of 5th wheels and Motor homes on the road you would think diesel was only $2.00 a gallon.

Terrie and I looked earlier this year and decided to wait. However, I was just in to pick up Monty after some repair work and another of our members is the service manager. He said Montana has set all time records for sales so far this year - while other brands are laying off. Go figure. The best time to buy is when you can afford it and want to buy. We faced the same decision on our truck - wait for larger rebates or buy with $4250 already in effect - didn't think they'd get much better so we bought. I think that this summer will tell us a lot. This is really going to be the first year with gas prices this high. How will it affect the vacation season? Good luck with your decision.

My local dealer is offering me about 30% off list which I think is a pretty good price but not much at all on my trade. I guess I was thinking if it took me about 2 or 3 months to sell mine then maybe sales would be down on new ones and Keystone might be offering rebates to spur sales. Don't sound like sales is a problem for Montana. Yesterday I had about made my mind up to go ahead and buy now and would you know interest rates have gone from 7.25 to 8.0%. Now it seems to have cost more to wait. Oh well life I guess. Anyway thanks for everybody's input.

I've always heard that in the auto business, it is always best to buy at the end of the month as that is when dealers end their competition with other dealers and it is their last chance to close out the month big. I wonder if it is the same in the RV business...

I think the best time to buy is when you have the money , and you have a good price and last but always , when your wife says you can , she has all the answers..

You may want to call me superstitious, but I have found that the best time to buy a Montana are on days that end in "y".

Your dealer offer of 30% is very good. I purchased last October on our 2008 and the dealer was excellent plus I was able to negotiate with them for a second A/C for the front bedroom. While I didn't finance the unit you maybe able to get another rate other than 8%. Not sure if you have to go thru the dealer on that. Your time to buy is when you are either ready or your deal is best for you. Good Luck. Dennis
