LP Gas bottles
I just filled my Gas bottles and put them back in the coach but now I don't have any gas flowing into the coach. Has anyone had this problem? Or am I missing something? Niether side is working and I am thinking maybe the regulator is bad.

I don't like to ask this, but did you remember to open the valves on the bottles? I've done that!

When you remove them from the coach, the lines fill with air. Try lighting the stove...with a match, not the ignition system.

Thanks Tom, I tried that and there was a small amount of gas that came through and now there is nothing flowing through the system. I can't hear anything coming out of the burners and the indicater on the regulator shows red. That is why I am thinking it might be the main regulator.

Tawna,
Did you try switching the regulator back and forth between the two bottles and they both show red?

Pick one tank. Close it. Take the hose off and then reattach the hose completely. Then very, very, very, very slowly open the tank valve. You should hear a very slight woosh or ping as the LP starts to flow. It should take approximately 30 seconds to open the tank valve completely.
We've had the same problem and this was our fix.

Bob, Bernie actually dictated it, I just typed it! Glad it worked. When we were having -20 degree temps for weeks, we starting having problems. He figured out (with the help of this wonderful forum) that he was turning the valve too quickly (which still wasn't quick). Glad it worked!
Welcome to the forum!

The newer tanks have valves on them that will shut off if there is a sudden surge of gas. Turning them on too fast will activate that safety valve.

Hello. We're new to this great forum, as well as to Rv'ing in general, but we are certainly loving every minute of it. I wanted to add one thing to this discussion. I've been having problems with my propane too, with similar symptoms, and it turned out to be a kinked hose. The vendors like to install the short hoses to save money, or be efficient, I suppose, however, when the small hoses are turned sharply, and when the valve is opened, they can collapse and become kinked under pressure. They can actually look fine until the valve is opened, then collapse sometime later. This totally can restrict the flow of gas, and fool the regulator into thinking it's empty.
My wife actually pointed out the possible problem to me. She's a stickler for the small details. The hose was about 3" long and kinked. I had a 14" hose made up at the local Amerigas store, then looped it around gently, and now the regulator registers full and is working great from both tanks. No more kinks and I didn't have to pull it to the dealer.
