MONTANA3400 WIRING,PLUMBING,HOLDING TANK DIAGRAMS

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHERE THE WIRES ARE AND THE PLUMBING AND HOLDING TANKS ARE BEFORE I START PUTTING A SCREW INTO ANYTHING. I WANT TO ADD SOME THINGS BUT DON'T WANT TO DRILL OR SCREW INTO ANYTHING BAD.

There are no wiring or plumbing diagrams available. The best way to locate the holding tanks and underfloor wires is to drop the underbelly.

I don't think anyone can provide you with an accurate diagram, especially for the wireing. I would wager a bet that every Montana built has the wires pulled through in a little bit of a different location. Now if they were to use conduit, that would be great. (Even plastic electrical conduit - the grey stuff.)

We can dream. It would be so nice to have one for each model. It would also cut down on costs at the dealership when trouble shooting an electrical problem.

From my feeble memory when we were at the factory and from my own experience with our 3400, this is the best that I can offer:

On the roof (I know, you are worried about the underbelly, but thought I would share), the 110v stuff is running in the "attic" on the driver side, about 10 inches from the edge of the roof; and the 12v wiring is the same, but on the passenger side.

In the underbelly, the tanks are installed first. Under the basement, you have your two tanks for grey and black, and the distance between the bottom of the tank and the underbelly is about 10 inches. The tanks are about 8 inches tall, and the very top of the tank, which has a flange, sits on the top of the frame, so you can estimate the distance from the top of the tank and the bottom of the basement floor. The flange is about 1/4 inch thick. On the 3400 (at least ours), the galley tank sits above the rear axle. Also, the tanks are about 24" wide and 63" long (frame to frame). The outlet for each tank is either on the right or left - in the case of the two tanks under your basement, the front tank has (as you're looking at it from the driver side) a right hand empty, and the rear tank has a left hand empty: thus the straight handles for the dump valves.

The wiring AND hydraulic hoses for the slides (on our 3400) run down the driver side of the frame and while some rest on the underbelly material, most are run through triangular supports that, at their bottom most points, are a few inches above the underbelly pan. When I was in ours, I used some plastic ties to secure the wires and hoses.

It just depends on which worker pulls the wires and lays them in place. Wouldn't it be nice if they used grey electrical plastic conduit and had everything in one place and protected.
