The camping itch needs to be scratched!

Yep, Marsha and I have it in a BAD way right now! We ran the slides out today to dewinterize for a weekend trip at the end of the week, and the urge to be camping kicked in in a major way. She looked over at me—knowing that this is the week for parent conferences after school in her district—and said she didn’t think the parents would mind too much if we just took off right now! I knew there was a reason I love this woman!

J.D.,
Both my wife and I have had to get our hitch scratched this week end. Loved our second trip to Ocean Lakes, SC. Wished it was warmer though but the Monty did really well in the 25 degrees with almost 40knots gusts. I surely did not want to be in a lighter unit, LOL.

Have to say the weather here in Georgia is beautiful right now. We were in the upper 60s today with 70s the next two. Friday and Saturday look to be in the 60s once again.

We have been thinking about it here in Iowa as well. But mother nature seems to know when we get the trailer out and has one last cold spell for us after we get it out of storage. It's hit 60+ here in northwest Iowa a couple days ago. Really makes me want to bring it home and start getting it ready though.

Only 31 more days until my coach comes out of the garage. I have been counting the days since October 6th when I put it away for a winters rest. I already have the excitement building as I continue to make my list of things to have done when it comes out. Nothing beats the feeling of driving down the road with a Montana in tow. =)

Temps are getting into the 40's here in central Oregon, but we still have mountains of snow around the place. Hubby removed the remaining blocks of ice from the top of the Monty and the cargo door locks have thawed. This is the first week of March and time for our annual pilgrimage south. This year it's a couple weeks in Arizona - hooray, ready for a change of scene and some warmth!!!!

Sunshine send some of that our way. We are due for some winter weather here in the next few days with chance of snow, and I have flowers in bloom! We took our Montana out locally last weekend and it was in the 60's. Crazy weather.

Parents won't mind, but the boss might. (is that OK if I use the words "but(t)" and "boss" in the same sentence?) Even though my principal is a good guy, he still wouldn't be happy - unless I invited him along on some hunting trip. Then we would both be leaving the parents to wonder what happened to both of us...

Well, we are close to the mid 70s today and the predictions say slightly higher tomorrow with no rain until a small chance on Sunday. Since we have only had one weekend without rain this year, someone must be looking out for us.

Of course, as VanMan said, getting away helps, even if it rains! That is the beauty of the Montana!

We too have multiple trips planned, all to Unicoi State Park near Helen, Georgia, two in April--including one where we will be attending the Tour de Georgia bicycle race--and a two week trip for June. Hope to also squeeze a short one into May to somewhere else.

This itch must be contageous. We even have it out here in California. Only 20 days till we head out for about a three month adventure. Try to hit anything and everything between here and Florida. Maybe after we get home we will feel the itch has been scratched. (NOT) Last time we did this, several years ago, we were only home about 2 weeks and told ourselves we would sure like to be heading out again. We could go the same route again and not see everything that we could see. Hope your weather holds thru the South!

I'd just like to see green grass again. Like Bear Hunter said... got to get rid of the 3 to 4 ft of snow on the level yet.

BTW, for those who are not sure what "on the level" means, it does not mean we're are being honest. It means that up here, we get drifting and snow banks that are much deeper than the open fields and in the woods. This snow is much deeper, and lasts into April, and even May, most years, but it is not what we consider snow depth. But most of you knew that.
