bonecho--one of our favourite parks

Greetings all,

What a wonderful forum. Very nice people, warm and welcoming. We have learned a lot already and have lots to learn yet being somewhat new to rving.

We were tent campers up until 2 years ago when we bought our first tent trailer, a Coleman Utah, which we loved. Went camping more than we had in 20 years but then decided maybe time to get rid of the canvas altogether and last fall we bought a Coleman Caravan 25 SLB. Great little trailer, can go in any sites a tent trailer can but not a lot of storage and does not have heated tanks or heavy insulation.

We actually are getting a new truck, a 2003 silverado 2500HD, crewcab, d/a, 4x4, long box early next week. (It is waiting pdi at dealership as I write this).

We have 2 children, a girl 13 years old and a boy 3 years old. We also have two 4 footed kids, Sprite a yellow labrador retriever, and Mickey a dalmatian. All of us love camping and wish we could do more, and we are doing more than we ever have. We have been out 12 nights already this year, 2nd time there was still snow on the ground.

We met a retired couple a few weeks ago who had the same truck as we had ordered and got talking to them about their truck. They had a new Montana, a 29 ft. and of course we had a tour, (we all love to talk about our rigs don't we??). The storage was incredible, and it was a very nicely laid out unit. We happened to have some trailer brochures in the trailer and pulled out the Montana and Mountaineer ones and started looking at them..........and thinking.......and considering.......went to the dealerships in our area the next week and have been looking..........and are almost sure we would like to order one for fall delivery....

Thought we would put some miles on the new truck by checking out some dealers further away, just to make sure that this is "the one", but we keep coming back to it, and our local dealer actually has the bunk model in stock so we have had a really good look at the floorplan.....we have looked at some other products as well but again we keep coming back to the Mountaineer 318bhs. Considered the travel trailer as we have a Hensley hitch but the storage and layout of the 5th wheel would meet our needs better.

We are enjoying reading about all your experiences and thank you for sharing them. Hope you don't mind if we hang around for a few months until we become official owners....

Happy Camping ALL, have a great long weekend, and a safe, fun summer..
