I had a guy that was next to me blow the train horns on his truck at someone who cut him off and they made ME jump!
Ever since then, I've really wanted air horns just like them.

They are super loud! Jim, I got them on the internet, Goodgle train horns, really inexpensive, the cost is the air tank and on-board compressor. A good way for you to go is a co2 tank, regulator and then no 2.5 gallon tank needed.

No air horns here Jim. I lived with them things for 42 yrs on the trains. Just think 4 times you hit that horn for every street crossing for in my case 200 miles, probably close to 250 crossings at least. Now take that and give you a locomotive that has no air conditioning and your window is open. Also racing cars for 31 yrs, and oh yea Vietnam to boot. Did I mention I now wear hearing aids?

How many of you have a less than impatient wife that gives you that dirty look, or that real big sigh when you continually say HUH what did you say!! LOL

Sure do enjoy this RV life and how quiet it is!! Life is good!!

I replaced my electric air horn on my Trawler a few years back, with a set of Walo Air Horns that had a small electric driven compressor which was about the size of a beer can. So the horns actually ran on air but there was no air storage tank involved. They were a 200% improvement over the straight electric so called air horns. I'm thinking about them for the truck.

They are a good compromise and will cause the Crown Victoria drivers doing 40mph in the go lane with their left turn signal bilnking for the last 10 miles, to fill their Depends.

What do you mean there's no one in the desert? Using those horns you've either gonna clear out all the snakes, rodents, birds, etc. or end up with a Bighorn sheep at your door looking for a date.

I've also experienced there's lots of people that wanna be left alone out in the desert and for that reason you won't see them and you'll certainly give them a stir. They'll probably stab your tires and cut your wires. I'm not saying they are nice and neighborly.

But reason #3 is the only thing I'd use it for.

Many years ago when automotive A/C units weren't popular, I was driving down a local Interstate back when 55mph meant 55mph. I was next to the fast lane when one of those original Honda Civics was blowing by - even bread boxes were bigger than this thing. He approached a vehicle in the fast lane just a few feet ahead of me, got impatient and honked his horn a couple of times. I just laughed since the original Honda horns were no louder than a bicycle bulb horn - remember those? Since he got no reaction, he then let loose on an air horn he had obviously installed. That day, I wish I was wearing Depends. Talk about a scare coming out of that car! Well it worked because the car ahead of him moved into my lane (and I let him) and then that Honda took off like a shot once again. I have no idea what he used but it sure was effective. I don't drive with my windows all the way down any more because I didn't like the ringing sensation in my ears and hope the windows can stop some of that.
