Two questions

I did not know where to post this so here goes. First - I know some of you have added storage space under oven, over microwave etc. The new oak fronts are all ready to go. My question is where did you get matching hardware? I called the local dealer and they said I should call Keystone and if they still have them for an 05 it will take 4 weeks to get. At a very big price I am sure.

Next question - The light - fan in the living area is a 60 watt. There are warning signs all over the place that that is the max. Sure would like more light from that source. Can you put a 75 watt bulb there? I'm sure it is a heat concern. But as it is why turn it on.

You may want to try a compact floresent bulb in the fan. They do not create the heat and use less watts. A 60 W equilivalent CF is only 13W, a 100W CF should be well below the limit. Also the CF does not have a filament in it and it should last longer.

We ordered a handle via our dealer. The hardware arrived within 2/3 weeks. I have a suspicion the delay into week 3 was due to our dealer not ordering promptly.

We used self closing hinges and did not put a handle or catch on. Works great. You can see it at Shasta.
Happy trails....................

I was able to find matching hardware for my '03 Mountaneer at my local Home Depot.

As to the lights in the fan, we have replaced all our 120 volt incandescent bulbs with compact flourescent bulbs. Cuts down on heat and power consumption. If you use a compact flourescent, a 75 or 100 watt equivalent bulb will only use 15-20 watts, so heat is not a problem.

I found matching hardware for our '05 Mountaineer at a store called Menard's which are around here in the midwest. I don't know if it is the same style for the Montana or not, but I'd be happy to look around here if you send me a picture of exactly what you are looking for. Depending on how much you need, there is no doubt that Keystone will make a lot of money on you if that is the only place you can get it.

I recently ordered 05 drawer pull (with leaves at the base) and hinges via a dealer, they only took about a week and cost about $6, I thought that was pretty good.

I replaced our bulb with a compact flourescent, more light, less power and heat.

Hi Dick and Toni! Good to see you on here. It's been awhile.

For our 2003 Montana we found Lowe's and Home Depot had hardware that was not exactly the same but so close you had to look closely to see the difference.

I found the hardware for our 05 Montana at the Montana dealer. As I recall, it was packaged under some generic vendor name, not Keystone or Montana. It was around $2.00. I might still have the plastic packaging in the garage at home. When I get back (another week or so) I will look and let you know. The key point is my dealer had them.
