Landing Gear Bolts

I know I've seen posts describing what bolts go to the shaft of the Landing Gear that have a tendancy to shear off. I can't for the life of me, find any posts through a search. I know they're 1/4-20 but I also know they have limited clearence and are somwhat specialty bolts/nuts. Can someone help me out and tell me what they are? I want to put a couple spares in the spare parts kit.

I have to get some spares of this too. Also I understand that the bolt used has to have a certain "softness" to provide proper shear protection. MIMF2 knows all about these things...

Ozz, are these different from the shear bolts in the slide axles bars?

In a pinch, you can use any bolt that will fit until you can get a hardened bolt. I did.

I think you would want the cap screw with a castle nut, or the nylon locking type nut, as there is no room for a locking washer.
The cap screw seems to be the garden variety, not a hardened one.
The other bolt is not a cap screw, just a macine screw.

Ok, I found the earlier discussion on Aug 31, 2006, under "Moc on MARS", "Montana Technical Help and Problems", "Here We Go Again". Specs are copied below. I kept it in my "Keep" file.

OK, heres the information, I was wrong, I think this is an off the shelf, (or bin) item;
Landing gear screw info:
7/16” socket for the nut, ¼” cap screw, 1 ½” long, 3/16” allen wrench head.
