I always leave the dump value chacked just a bit so there is some water running out. I have never had an overflow problem. But then again I always monitor the process. One thing I do, do is have the tank about a 1/3 full with some toilet chems in it while driving. The sloshing water cleans the holding tank pretty good, then I dump it at the next stop and flush the tank.

Another little thing we learned was to remove the hose from the black tank flush when not in use. If you have a leaky faucet like we did recently it is possible to fill the tank up and find you have a very interesting upside down shower at 5 in the morning when the foot depresses the pedal. All that town water pressure water has to go somewhere and pressing the foot pedal allows a very effective fountain.

Trust me I will NEVER ever leave the hose attached again!

When I first got mine I was delayed half a day because tech was trying to fix those sensors. what he Found was two were reverse wired. And he told me on every one the wires were loose on the terminals. He took everyone off and sadterd < spelling) new wire ends on and added little starr washers and tightened them all up. So fare they have been very accurate. (still don't trust them completely but haven't had what others are reporting about them). I always use the sound method shut off when I don't hear the spray. Like everyone said before shut off if interrupted.

DiananColin:

GREAT point, and, sadly, pretty funny story (for those of us who were non-participants!) I always unhook the flush hose also, but only to prevent an accidental filling of the tank by someone turning the wrong outside faucet on, maybe by some grounds-keeper or neighbor. Never thought of the possibility of a leaking faucet!

Thanks!!

We use a small magnetic timer that attaches to the metal pin box. It is set to 7 minutes. When the bell rings, nothing else matters but pulling that handle! (NO DISTRACTONS)

This technique has worked well for us without any problems, and the tanks do get clean.
