New TV

Well we did it. We got a 06 F-350 crew cab, 4 X 4, 6L with tow command. I am anxious to see how that pulls the Monty. We pick it up in a week after they get a few add ons done and get the hitch switched. It seemed to ride quite a bit better empty than the old Dodge. I used to be a Ford guy and had a couple of Dodges and loved the Cummins. The Dodge dealer ticked me off though and he lost a sale. He forgot the service part of customer relations. Anyway, I am sure I will like it. It's new, lol.

Congrats Virgil. I am picking one up myself on Tuesday. Rebates were pretty good and I decided to trade a little earlier than planned to avoid the new engine until it has the bugs worked out. Good luck with yours.

I'm sure you will enjoy your New TV. Ours has worked great so far, mileage is a little less than my 1999 but lots of power.

Congratulations! I'm a GM guy buy I envy anyone with a new TV right now. I have two daughters in college so they seem to be taking care of all my "disposable income".

Nothing like a new tow rig to start the summer camping season off. Hope those new Fords treat ya well and offer many happy times to come...

Congratulations, Virg, Jo, Ron, and Melinda! Those are excellent choices. You are going to love the way that 6.0L and TorqShift handle the grades, both up and down. We have 50,000 on our 2005 6.0L now and it's just about broken in. Mileage gets better with age, peaking at around 30k miles or so, from what I saw in both our 6.0's.

We love our 2005 F350 6.0 with tow command. We, too, had a Dodge previously and liked the Cummins, but are very happy with the Ford.

Congratulations, Virg, Jo, Ron, and Melinda!.....I love my 06 F350. It tows the Montana beautifully, very smooth, no chucking, has a lot of power and is very solid in its handling. Best wishes with your Ford!

Thanks everyone. I picked it up today and was impressed with the quietness of the cab. The seats are great. Seems to have pretty good power and decent mileage. I had to drive it 30 miles home. It had 23 miles on it when I picked it up. The mileage was about 16 to 17 mpg which was good considering the engine only had a few hours on it and I had a pretty big hill to go over. I did notice that even with the mirrors retracted, it is about the same width as the Dodge was with the extensions added. I will be curious to see what it is like pulling the Monty with the mirrors extended. It should provide a little better mirror vision. And of course, I had to take a few little trips around, just to get used to it. Anyway, thanks again and happy trails to you .
