Auto-leveling

Good morning, y'all!

We have a 2005 Montana 3400RL. Old, yes, but we just bought it a couple of years ago and I didn't want to beat up a new one learning how to pull it.

Anyway, I would like to install the Lippert 3.0 system if one will fit. 4- or 6-point; either will do.

Lippert has been no help and any other suggestions will be very welcome.

Dan

There are many installers for the Lippert leveling system located around the country. I know a number of members here that have added it to their early Montanas. I highly recommend you get the hydraulic 6 point system. Yes it is a bit more expensive but you will be much happier in the long run.

We took our 2010 to the national ralley in Goshen and Lippert installed if in their factory there. I would be surprised if it couldn't still be done.

I am surprised Lippert was "of no help". They usually are one of the better companies to work with. They do have a list of authorized installers (that they have trained) for the level Up system. I know of locations in AZ, CA and OR. That doesn't help you in FL but leads one to believe there are others scattered around the country. They should be able to tell you of one "local" to you *IF* you get to the right person.

That was our first Montana in 2004 - a 2005 3400. Again, as others have suggested, Lippert is usually very good to deal with on issues. I would ask to speak to a supervisor. Best of luck.

Thanks for the answers, y'all. I need to clear up the no help comment. I sent them an email through their website and got no response for well over a week, so I sent another one. I posted this question before I heard from them and they answered my questions within a day or two apart. Not terrible, I know. Just frustrating.

Thanks again. I always enjoy being on this site.

I just had this done last year. I was a long process, due to parts being on back order. The part numbers for the hydraulic 6 point system, which I had put on, were.
LCI # 352763
Camping world # 104989
Mine was done at an RV service center that was bought by Gander RV, who is a part of Camping World. They also integrated the slides and levelers into one pump.

I had the 6 point installed at an authorized dealer (Lifestyles RV) in Quartzsite. I have two separate hydraulic systems and couldn’t be happier with the decision.

Thanks for the part numbers and info, Greg. Amazon has the best price so I'll probably go that way and install it myself. In a different thread a guy said it took about 8 hours in his driveway. There is no way I'll get it done that fast but I have time.

Ax I watched it being done, it required a certified welder, which seemed to be the most complex part of the installation. The process at the dealer took 1 1/2 days.

We love our Lippert 6 point installed our our 2013 295RKD. I did have them leave the rear stabilizers on so we actually have an 8 Point! Our RV with it’s rear kitchen is really stable now!

I have the 6 point system that is all electric. Have had no issues in the three years I have had the rig. Might weigh the pro’s and cons of both before you choose. Once the electric jacks are set, they will not drop like the hydraulic do if you develop a leak in the system, or otherwise lose pressure in your system. There is a nut on top of each electric jack that allows you to lower or raise the jacks manually with a good drill or driver if any issues develop. Might want to ask Lipert about both systems first. I believe there is a post about needing a welder, they are correct. Just an FYI.

I contacted the Lippert Customer Care Center in Goshen, IN and made arrangements to have them install a 4-point hydraulic leveling system on my Monty. All arrangements were made by email or phone. They asked for a lot of pictures of my Monty to ensure that it could be done. The service was exceptional and I would never go back to the old electric landing gear/stabilizer type system. You might start with a call to 574-537-8900 or a visit to https://support.lci1.com/

My Son-in-lay and I installed the electric 6 point Lippert system on my 2012 Montana.

Read and follow the instructions and you should have no problems. I have not had to contact Lippert since I installed the system.

Besides the convenience of the auto level system, it has made our fiver feel much more stable.
