Dryer Venting

If you vent out the side, you dryer vents from the back and the vent hose has to snake around to the side. When the dryer-side connection vibrates off, which it likely will on occasion, you will have to pull the dryer out to fix. Not an easy task. I know because I’m in the middle of doing this myself.

We installed stackable Splendide washer and dryer in our 3791RD. Ours is a Legacy Edition and the coach does not come with the dryer vent. We purchased the black vent kit. We paid for the installation as there isn't much room to work in the area and with stackable units, there is the need to hoist the dryer on top of the washer. Also, I am not confident enough to cut the vent hole into the side of a new coach!

From looking at the installation, the shelf must be removed from the closet for stackable units. Not sure if the shelf needs to be removed for a combo unit but it would give more room to do the prep work for the install. We installed a water catch pan under ours in case of a leak. The stackable units take up the entire W/D closet.

Other than the vent thru the wall issue, it seems to be an easy install, especially for a combo unit. We did elect to install a catch pan under ours in case of a water leak.

We had the Splendide combo unit that was vented in our last Montana. It washed and dried well but we never really got the hang of preventing wrinkled clothes. With stackables, laundry is quicker and no wrinkles. We would not be without them and use them all the time we have hookups.

Good luck!

We, too, have a Montana Legacy 3791RD. You are spot on … the Splendide stackable is great. One thing, though. Because you can wash more loads faster, know that it will fill a closed grey water tank quickly. Your first indication there’s an issue will be water pouring from around your pin box. The drain pan won’t even slow it down. So… be sure you coordinate with whoever is doing laundry before you close-off your grey tanks to dump your black tank. the sound of water you hear won’t the stuff moving out of your black tank.

That sounds like an "experienced" statement

I’ve had to re-attach the dryer vent hose. I tilt the the dryer forward which also tilts the washer. Works pretty easy and, since I’m there, I can clean out behind both machines.
