New tires
Just received and installed my new Sailun tires. HUGE, difference over stock. Gives me a little more piece of mind.

Its not really so much the price as it is the track record. I know of no tire that has the same reputation as the Sailun S637's . I know some have a hard time with them being China made. Fact is , most likely we are typing on our computers made in China ,or cell phone.

Tire pressures
Can anyone help me? A friend wants to put Sailun 235 80 16 tires on his rig. He doesnt have rims rated for 110 pressure. Can he still use them with 80 lbs? I say yes cause the rims are rated for 80 but hes worried about underinflation. His rig only weighs 11000 empty.

Are you sure? His rims are rated for only 80 psi and the dry weight of his trailer is 11k?? What size/LR are the OEM tires?

Many (most?) manufacturers publish pressure vs load charts.

The sidewall gives the max weight at the max pressure. But tires can safely be run at lower pressures at lighter loads.

Great choice of tires. I remember taking a beating by some people three or four years ago when I was promoting Sailun tires. You can look up some of the old tire topics for grins and giggles. I think that they have more than proven themselves.

They all become believers in the Sailun tires as soon as they put their hands on one. Very heavy ,61lbs, and a very strong sidewall. I switched from G-614's when one started to give me trouble.

He has 235 80 r16 on it. e range westlakes 80 psi max And his trailer is a 2019 only 6000 lb axles Its a Grand Design Reflection.

If he has 12,000 lbs of axles on a trailer that only weighs 11,000 lbs GVWR, he is very lucky. I'm surprised they didn't put 5,200 axles on the rig, as they would have been quite capable for the weight. There is 20 to 25% of the trailer weight carried on the fifth wheel hitch. Just install the tires and inflate them to 80 psi and he will be good to go and much safer.

If I was looking for a new set of tires and had questions I would just contact the manufacture and give them the information they needed to properly size the tires. The manufactures of the tires I have owned have always been very helpful with questions I had. As far as any conversation I have had with a tire manufacture the biggest concern they had was running the tires under inflated. I would also highly recommend running a good TPMS system to keep an eye on them when going down the road.

My recollection is he can use as little as 80psi based on his light load, so no, no need to upgrade wheels. But have him confirm from the load table.

A ST235/80R16 LRG inflated to 80 PSI is a LRE.
