Bob, are you looking at a SRW 3500? I believe they sit higher than the DRW. I just went from a 2005 dually to a 2011 dually and the bed height is just about identical, but as you noted the sides of the box are indeed higher. I had about 8 inches clearance on the 2005 and now I'm down to about 6 so I'll have to be a little more watchfull, but should be OK. One note on the 2011's, 6th gear is no longer locked out when in Tow/Haul Mode but you do have to put up with DEF which all newer Diesels will have to use eventually.
