Propane Tank Chirping

Lately whenever my hot water heater or gas stove is lit I get a chirping noise @ my propane tank. I have to assume this is probably caused by the regulator but was really just wondering if this has happened to anyone else & what was the fix. I just used my 2008 Monty 3400RL for the 1st time this past week @ Fishcreek Campground State Park (N.Y.) in the Adirondacks.

Everything was fine but the chirpiung is annoying.

Wow. That could be a challenge getting into many sites in Fish Creek.
I've had the chirping and had the regulator replaced to fix it. Twice.

I have the chirping noise also but not all the time. It seems worse to me when a very low amout of gas is being used. Like the fridge only. Guess i'll replace my regulator also when It gets to really bothering me.

This is a common problem. There is no danger and it will not effect performance of the system. If you change the regulator it might fix the problem but not always

There was a thread about this a month or two ago and also an article in Trailer Life Mag. As long as you have no leaks and it is only when gas is actually being used then it is mostly a "resonant harmonic" in the regulator according to the expert in the article as stated above. He also said as noted above that you can try to replace the regulator and pigtails but it is not a guaranteed fix. We also have the problem but just turn the water heater off at night. In the winter we run a small fan in the bedroom and it drowns out the sound at night when the furnace runs, Best wishes, Jay and Kathy
