Padredw, we have the same problem with the slides on our 2005 3295 leaving black outlines on the carpet. We have only had our camper since June of this year. We took it back to the dealer for a few minor repairs and asked them what might be causing the black marks. They finally decided that it was the exhaust from our diesel truck sticking to the edges of the slides while we travel. They put some extra caulking where they thought it was coming in. We've not used it since so are not sure whether this is going to help. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

We've had our unit over 5 years now and have never experience any problem in that regard. However, I don't purposely walk on it when I go to the back to check to make sure nothing has fallen down before I extend the slides.

This is just a little off topic but when camping at the local hospital, yes they have a few free full hook up camping sites, we could not open the front room slide on out 2980RL so we opened the front window on the retracted slide and turned on the television so we could hear the TV and while sitting on the couch we could operate and view the TV in the bedroom. Not real easy but it worked. Can't remember why we just didn't go up and use the bed.

Happy camping,
Dick Driver

We also love the fact that we have full access to every where in the 2955RL on the road. We like to stop in a small town somewhere, pull off the road in a park area and have a picnic style lunch. It is a good break from driving and lets you enjoy the outdoors and take off feeling refreshed. We have stepped on our retracted slde floor and haven't seen any problem. My wife and I are pretty small though and it still does give some. We try to step in closer to the couch or table.

Once I stepped on the retracted slide ,Right at the sidewall and felt the floor slightly seperate from sidewall, fortunatly I think I jumped off befor I did any damage Since the floor has the mechanism that retracts the entire slide room I can see where I dont want to fowl it up. We will be piggy backing on flatcars ona tour of Copper Canyon in Mexico this Feb. and will be living on board the train for 5 days,we cant extend the slides,so I think I will make a couple of wedges (only about 1" high ) that I can place at bothe edges of the big slide. That way , I wont really have a problem if I forget they're there. Any other suggestions appreciated----Dave

Dave, take me with you and I'll try to remind you not to step on the slide! I'll keep a close watch on that. Promise.
