Mor Ryde rubber pin box

Arrived in Dubois Thursday afternoon. While unhitching from the superglide I noticed a piece of rubber in the bed of the truck. Closer examination revealed the entire front rubber piece on my pin box had broken in three pieces. It looks like the rear piece will also fail in a matter of time. Has anyone had this happen, and is the repair a DIY?

Thanks

Call MorRyde. They're very responsive and easy to work with. I believe it's something you can replace yourself once you have the part.

Yes, it is not too much of a job. The rubber inserts are numbered, give them the weight of your 5th wheel. I changed mine out. Have a slide show if it somewhere...

Are you talking about the small square bumper pieces or the rubber sheer spring?

If it is the sheer spring, I would not try and pull it till it is replaced. The sheer spring will have a number molded into the side of it. Like a "3" or "4" or "5" or "6". The higher the number the heavier weight of the trailer.

My '14 3150RL came with a "5". I removed it and installed a "4" at time of delivery.

To remove the rubber sheer spring, remove the 4 bolts in the end of the 2 round pieces that run front to back. Remove the 4 rubber plugs from the top part of the pin assy. When you remove the 4 nuts available under the rubber plugs the pin assy will drop straight down.

NOTE...It is heavy, you WILL need someone to help hold it so it does not fall on the ground. Once the pin assy is removed the rubber sheer spring can be removed.

Jim

We had MorRyde on our 2005 and 2010 and despite heavy travel schedules never had an issue.

Had the same thing happen to us earlier this summer and had to replace both the front and rear Rubber Bump Stops.
Call Mor/ryde at 574-293-1581, part number RPB717-001.
Simple to install but you have to drop the bottom plate to install the back bumper.
