Matress quality
My Montana came with a queen mattress that is of a very low quality. Uncovered you can see and feel the springs. No top padding at all. Recent discussions with a few owners leads me to believe our mattress was replaced. I was told all Montana mattresses have a rounded edge. Is this always the case?
Thanx - Dean

Yeah, ors is a 2008 model and the mattress was poor. Uncomfortable and cold.
We immediately went out and bought a 2" thick memory foam topper.
Made a huge difference. The original mattress is now ok and we are comfortable.

We used a topper for a couple of years, but got tired of having to deal with it sliding around and opted for a new Memory foam. This eight inch mattress has been a great sleeping aide.
In our stick house, we had a Tempru-Pedic mattress for 10 plus years and slept well. This is a memory foam , but not Tempru-Pedic. After several months of use, we find it equal to the Tempru-Pedic and it was about half the price. They custom cut and shaped the mattress to order. Got it delivered, rolled it out, made up the bed and have slept happily ever after.

Our mattress is a pillowtop but maybe in 2009 they didn't use pillowtops. Ours is actually comfortable with the memory faom mattess on top

Our is a 2007 and we bought a standard 16" high queen that has the memory foam top, really sleeps great. It fits perfect, no problems with having to cut down a corner. We are happy campers that sleep well.

We tried the 2" memory and a topper. Neither helped much. Just bought a 12" memory foam full queen from Costco for $499.00 and it works great. Spent 9 nights on it on a trip. What a difference. The bedroom slide just makes it closed. I need to add a plywood extension so I can sit on the edge of the bed.

Dean, Welcome to the Forum which I call "THE BEST DARNED FORUM ON THE WWW". Our King sized mattress has rounded corners. We put the Costco foam topper and it has been good. Lately, the DW and I have been having some issues with back pain and will be replacing with a Queen Bear Bed this winter while in Casa Grande.
You could close your BR slide and see if you really need rounded corners. If you order a memory foam you could probably round it yourself with an electric knife, many do, probably not necessary though.
BTW, you might put your model and year of your Montana in your signature so we can better answer questions based on your model. A note about your tow vehicle also helps.

The 12" memory foam mattress that I just got can't be trimmed. It has a permanent, bound cover just like a regular mattress. It comes compressed in a box about 3'x2' weighs 75 lbs. When you cut the plastic wrap it expands over 24 to 72 hours. I like it as well as the home latex foam mattress that cost $2200.00 A topper can be trimmed.

We slept 1 night on the factory mattress and went to CostCo the next day and bought the exact same memory foam mattress we use in the house. Now the trailer sleeps as great as we do in the house.
As for trimming we opted not to. Wife replaced the comforter with a new one and the slide goes in and out with out any problems. The one corner does press against the sink/vanity. But the foam easily compresses.
