Trailer brakes temps?

I usually check the drums and tire temps at most stops. Today I noticed that the rear tire drum on one side and the front drum on the other, we're about 30 degrees hotter than the other two. Is that normal? Usually they are all the same, or close.

With my TST they run about 10 degrees warmer than ambient, and the sunshine side could be 20 or more degrees warmer.

Each individual brake may produce slightly different temps due to factors such as weight on that brake, brake adjustment, and condition of electrical connections. Unless one was significantly higher every time I don't think I would be concerned. Pulling the hub though, might be a good idea to put your mind at ease.

I would not necessarily pay much attention to the temps, but if you can hold you hand on 2 drums and 2 of them are too hot to keep it there, there is a problem.
