I just did the same. Haven't mount it yet because I'm concerned about the visibility in the day light. Its a $200 40" Visio not a $1800 Sunbright. Not impressed with the visibility. How's the Samsung?

For protecting the tv, how about the full rotation mounts - I think that is what it was called. It tilts AND swivels 180 degrees. So you could swing it out to view from outside, but then when storing, you can swivel it all the way around facing backwards and then swing against the wall. So the wall would protect the front. Just curious if anyone has tried this method.

How is the picture on the Samsung? My Visio isn't bright enough but I don't want to spend 1800 on a Sunbright.

This is a 50" that I have standing on the factory legs. When traveling we put it on the bed. Nothing complicated, it works, and I can move it anywhere.

I do the same thing but with a 40" Visio. My picture isn't as good. What TV are you using?

I hope DW doesn't see these posts. I wasn't all that thrilled about putting her a TV in the bedroom. Certainly not begrudging those who wish to watch TV outdoors. Maybe one day I'll have a change of heart, but for now a book or a manual and a cup of coffee while sitting outdoors does it for me.

Well I've been doing my own research to determine what is the best TV for a sunny bright environment. After purchasing an LCD and discovering that under normal lighting it looks great, it doesn't work in a bright environment such as the basement. Having some background regarding outdoor TV's I was trying to find a work around without having to by a Sunbright priced at $1800! Screen technology is changing rapidly and I'm not exactly up to speed so I started doing some reading and this is what I've discovered. Qled is by far the brightest and Samsung has anti glare tech. Priced at $499 for a 43" it's on my radar for this football season.

If anyone has anything else to share please do.
P.S. Bartman your picture looks pretty good but I'm sure it would look better if it wasn't GB and the Cults
