I did not LISTEN to SELF (landing gear bolt )
We went on our Group Thanksgiving camping trip this weekend. Boy the Turkey was good. Thursday, I told my self I needed to pick up a couple of those bolts everyone is talking about.
Hooked up to come home and something(s) were not right. The landing jack motor was sounding funny (1st Clue) then I noticed the passenger side landing gear still down and the drivers side in the nested position. HUMM. Yep the bolt closest to the motor came loose, I found the nut, and then sheared itself. I had a 1/4 inch Allen wrench that worked as a temporary fix. I put the short side in the hole and tape the long side to the square shaft so it did not flop around and both side retracted as they should. Tomorrow I will get the spare bolts. Remember to get the correct length because there is not a lot of extra clearance there.
