GMC Braking System
For anyone with experience with the newer GMC trucks that feature the trailer braking system, would you be able to answer how to adjust the brake resistance? In this video, it appears that GMC want you to use the maximum, number 10 if you have a heavy load, which I would consider my 3750 FL to be.

We have a 2015 3440RL, and a 2016 GMC Duramax, I have used the setting of "8" and it works fine for me.

Mine is clearly not as heavy as yours, but 7.5 works for me.

Our SOB is pushing 19K plus and I'm running my controller at 8, now I am running Disc Brakes which does make a difference.

I have never used mine higher than 4.5. I adjust so that the brakes will slide the wheels when idling forward. My preference is to have the trailer pull on the truck very slightly when braking.

I have a 3850 FL and run mine at 6.5 but it is really a preference to how you want the system to work. I like my truck and fifth wheel to break evenly and I adjust as I go.

I have a Ford. But I adjust mine just high enough to get maximum braking without sliding the tires on pavement. But I sometimes reduce the setting in rain. You don't want the trailer tires sliding in a panic stop, especially on slick roads.

I have a 2016 Chevy. I have mine set at 5. Anything higher I lock the trailer up.

My 2011 has the same system and I have never run it over 4.5. It works great at that point for me.

What setting you use depends on the trailer brakes. They are all different depending on how the breaks are adjusted and wear how strong the magnets are. It's not a one size fits all.
