Weber Q Grills

I have a Weber Q220 grill and now have had my third regulator go bad in 3 years. I'm wondering if other people are having the same problem with their grills. My first two regulators went bad in the first 18 months of ownership and Weber sent me new ones at no charge. I talked to them again yesterday about my third one going bad and they said "they are not aware of any wide spread issues" with the regulators. I asked them to send me another one and they said they would be happy to at the price of $43. They also said the new regulator is not the same as the one that came with the grill. To me, that is an admission that the earlier regulators was bad. Am I just unlucky or are others having the same issues? I would like to hear from others before I decide whether to purchase a new regulator, or to chalk Weber up as a brand to never buy from again.

No problem with Weber Grills. Have one at the house for 20 years and have one that we travel with. The one in the 5th wheel is the Baby Weber and have it for over 9 years..

We've had our 220 for over three years, carry it on our Montana, and it has worked perfectly.

Nope, no problem with my Regulator either in 2 years, the only thing I have done is take out the burner tube 1 screw on the end under the grill plates on the left by the Igniter ,and pull and lift out the tube and clean all the holes with a small paperclip and Also do not forget to clean that mesh screen at the end as it will clog real bad with grease etc... and will hinder performance of the grill,I just use auto brake cleaner for that

Had a problem with my regulator when my Q was a couple of years old, purchased a regulator from another source than Weber and have been fine since (6 years).

4 years with a Baby Q and 2 years with a 220 ... no issues ... great grills. You have some negative energy from somewhere clouded over your grill.

If you are getting oil in your propane it will shorten the life of the regulator. Try another propane supplier.

We had trouble with our regulator after about 2 yrs as well as our friends. Yes they go bad from time to time. We replaced our from Weber. We like the grill so $40 for 2 yrs was worth it to us.

I have a full size Weber at home and a smaller one for the rig. I have never had any regulator problems with either...mostly because they are good old fashioned Weber kettles that burn charcoal! Had 20 years of unsatisfactory cooking on propane grills. Switched back to charcoal and my family enjoys my grilling again! Go figure.

What was the indication that the regulator needed to be replaced?

No or extremely low flow.

We have a baby Q and I have not had any issues with it. As a matter of fact I just ordered the side trays from amazon a few weeks ago and have been enjoying it

it first started with smelling propane when not in use. Changed our hoses. Thought we where good to go. Then it was not getting gas would not light just when your ready to cook your meal and everyone in the RV was starving. Been working since. And yes we tried cleaning everything from spider mites.
