marabombs my turn

well it finally happened to us too. we were on our way back to broken arrow, oklahoma on the 29th from south dakota. around bellevue kansas at 8;45 at night boom there she blew, not an 1 1/2 after stopping for dinner and resting, so here we go changed the tire pulled off the siding on the main slide and kept it, went straight to salina kansas and a certified cat scale at petro truck stop. weighed everything and now tomorrow to the dealer we go. only 2yr old trailer , havent checked the tire manufactured date yet. but hopefully keystone will cover a new tire and repairs. i also have a extended service plan but hope i dont need it, anyone with some advice how to proceed, i do have the tire and i will take it to the dealer with me.

I think others have had better luck dealing with the tire manufacture, Goodyear, rather than Keystone. Most the deals I remember members got their damage covered as well as discount towards another Goodyear product. A search on this subject should lead to some threads detailing how other members handle situation similar to yours. Good Luck, Jim

Keystone will tell you tires are warranted by the tire manufacturer. I believe it says that right in their warranty documents. As Jim noted, contact Goodyear. I had good luck with Goodyear dealers replacing the tires under warranty but they'll want to give you another Marathon. If you want to switch them out for another Goodyear model, then work with the manufacturer. They may or may not help you out with any damage repairs. You may have to go to your insurance company for that (we had to). I don't think the extended service plan covers tires and damage from blowouts, either. Good luck.

As the others said, you need to contact Goodyear Customer Service. They have been good with many owners about covering the cost of repairs as well as giving you a deal to replace the Marathons with G614's.

In my case, they paid for the damage and paid me for the damaged tires. I now run Michelin LTX's.

Good advice, and recommend no marathon replacement. They are not a bad trailer tire for lesser weight loads, just not the correct choice for our heavier units. Goodyear covered trailer damage and five new tires (marathons) at no cost to my neighbor. As indicated, Keystone will not get involved.

We blew out 2 of the dang things on one trip and Goodyear was very good about covering the damage, which was considerable. I got an estimate for the body damage, Goodyear sent me some forms to fill out then I took what was left of the tires to Discount tire and they took from there as far as shipping the blown out tires back to Goodyear. Received a check in a couple of weeks.
