You are cruel. What kind of challenge is that? A challenge is something you try that can have an amazing outcome. There is only one outcome in that one and it's not particularly amazing.

Orv,
Last time we went to HF the DW was the one who couldn't make it out of the store without buying something! Usually I'm the one that just has to have another screwdriver or wrench of some sort. So it was sort of funny to see her loading up the basket.

Do you guys find as you get older that you have way too many tools already? And most of the ones that you "just had to have" when you were younger never get used any more.

I can honestly say that I’ve never been inside of a Harbor Freight store. I have however made a purchase or two VIA their catalogue.

Many people are quick buyers or impulsive buyers. I tend to be a stalker. I will stalk the item I am thinking about before I buy, looking for better price or better quality. Looking and leaving without buying is part of my stalking pattern.

I have shopping habits much like Stiles...my wife has accused me of looking for a toaster for months...LOL. I guess RV life makes one do strange things...
Having said that, I found a Harbor Freight on my way through town the other day and just HAD to stop in. The first thing that came to mind was this is how Northern Hydraulics USED to be (Northern Tools now).
The second thought was - I was glad my wife wasn't with me so I could look things over real good. Lots of guy stuff. Much of it cheap, but lots of stuff a person could find a use for none the less.
I felt it was my duty to pick up just a couple things...

Went there just yesterday and got an air tool that I really, really needed! I have a simple job that I need it for and a place for it after that in my box, just in case I need it sometime!

I must not be a real man then. I just go in to see what's there and lo and behold I find a tool that I just can't do without. I abuy it and store it for up to two years without another thought. As someone else said, you can't have too many tools! I missed the air hammer! I need one of those! This last time, I just bought another 12-volt air compressor. My last one went bezonkers (my word).

About the only thing I go to Harbour Freight for are gloves. They are so cheap that with the cotton gloves, I just throw them away when they get greasy. I don't buy any of their tools unless it's a one time useage item, or I'm going to rework it for a speciality tool. The only exception to this was I bought 4 of their 12 ton hydraulic jacks (on sale) to help stabilize the trailer - or use in the event of a flat tire - but even these cheap %^$&*# leak.
All the rest of my hand tools are either Craftsman, S&K or Snap-On.

The times I have been in Harbor Freight, or Northern Tools, and not bought anything, the wife was with me. But let me in their on my own - HRrrrmmf! ARrrgh, ARrrgh, that's a different story.
