Well..We do read the RV net forum and post there from time to time as well as other forums such as Diesel Forums, etc. They are all different. They all provide information some useful, some useless. We like to see a broad range of expressions and opinions.Example by reading other RV forums you understand that we all have similar issues with our campers. If you were to only read the MOC you might get the impression that Only Montana has these problems. MOC is the most helpful and best policed forum we are on.

Glenn, I am all confused now.
If my 3400RL GVWR is 15500 and I have Missions rated at 3520 and I replace the Missions with the Michelin Ribs LT235/85R16XPS E Rated at 3042 lbs, wouldn't I be downgrading my load factor?

Glenn,
You're right on. I don't know how many people I've talked to who swear by RV.net. Before I found this forum I used to frequent the RV.net forum and I'd always come away confused and somewhat disgusted by most of the posts. Since this forum came into being I have never gone back to that forum. Usually I get my answers here and when I share something from my experiences of over 30 years of RVing (almost eight full time) no one tries to do what my mother used to say: "Jump down your throat and gallop your guts out." Please excuse me if that's too graphic.

Orv
Orv, The only reason I went to RV.net was because that is where the Link took me. I have been a member over there for many years and back in the early 2000s I was a very active member but, like you, since I found the MOC my time spent at RV.net is usually due to some link found in a thread such as this one. Otherwise I try to stay away. I was tired of seeing someone make a completely innocent post and have some "A"hole reply telling him that he was a jerk for asking such a stupid question.
The term "Weight Police" started at RV.net. A newbie had to be afraid to even suggest he might be the least bit overloaded. At least here on the MOC you can ask any question without fear of being verbally attacked.

Rich, I fully agree with you about RV.net and other forums sometimes being very useful but I am worn out trying to trudge thru all the trash talking just to get a tiny piece of information and still not sure how good that info really is. It was these other forums that convinced me it was always better to go direct to the horse's mouth for reliable info and bypass the horse's patootie.

BTW- To those at RV.net and those other forums. The above is JMHO, no more no less and so far as I know in this great country of the U.S. of A. everyone is allowed to voice their opinion. Opinions are just like "A"holes, everyone has one. Now you can go back over to RV.net or those other forums and Trash Talk about me but unless there is a link posted here taking me directly to it in all probability I will never see it.

No doubt about it BUT take your fully loaded rig ready for travel to the scales and weigh it. Now calculate your weight per tire. If your total travel weight per tire is less than 3042 you will be fine BUT if you EXCEED 3042 per tire than don't do it. It wasn't that long ago when all the Montys came thru with LT235/85R16 E Rated tires and these tires were fine and in my opinion still are so long as they are NOT loaded over the 3042# MAX load.
