New 3400 home at Last!!!
It's home!!! the new 3400 is home and cuddling us
The PDI went very well, only found 3 items that needed to be looked at. They were all repaired before we left Tacoma RV.
The Duramax pulled it just fine and stopping was great.
The double pane windows are tinted fairly dark, at least as dark and those on the 3280 were. The quietness is phenomonal, awesomely quiet, We can barely and I do mean barely, hear the loggin trucks on the highway about 100 feet from us . The furnace is also very very quiet, but does tend to heat the bedroom too high . will have to restrict the register. I did notice the water pressure in the kitchen is lower that in the bathroom , will have to check that out. It's GREAT!VERY MUCH MORE COMFORTABLEFOR US.

I covered the bedroom register with Aluminum foil I covered 2/3 to 3/4 of the opening. Yes the dual pain helps.

That's fantastic news!! We've ordered the 3400RL with the double pane windows with the hope that there would be a noticable difference in both the quietness as well as insulation. Sounds like we're going to be very happy with that decision based on your report.
We heard from our dealer this week that our unit is expected to roll off the assembly line the last week of May, so we'll probably be bringing ours home the first week in June.
The big suprise for us will be which generator the factory installs as our dealer said that the factory is in the process of switching over from installing Propane generators to gasoline generators and they weren't sure which one we'd be getting. We had originally thought we wanted the propane but after looking at the specs we consider it a toss up.

Rickety, Congratulations on the new castle. Enjoy it. As for the hot bedroom, I had to order an adjustable register from D&W Incorp http://www.dwincorp.com/index.php
I also got magnetic pads from Home Depot, big enough to cover the registers, so if the adjustable registers leak too much heat the magnetic pads can help seal up the register. You can use them on non-adjustable register to adjust the heat flow.

Congratulations Rickety!!! Have fun with that rig!
The furnaces is pleasantly quiet. I changed out all the registers with adjustables from Home Depot. Just tried it last night and works very well - bedroom was almost cold.

Congratulations Rickety, may you enjoy that rig with good health for many years to come. We as well have noticed the new furnace is much more quiet than our 2003 was and agree with your findings about the dual panes.

Rick.on the low water pressure in the kitchen check for hose kinks under the sink. With the water running move the faucet from one bowel to the other and see if the pressure stays the same or increases. The Register in the bedroom is diabolically placed so that you will step on it when getting out of bed and it is very hot. This furnace is extremely quiet and keeps the 3400 very warm. Have fun with the new toy.

Congratulations on the new rig Rick!! I hope y'all make some great memories with it...:-)
I don't think I'm as lucky with the furnace volume. It's fine in the living room, but if my ear is against the pillow in bed and the furnace kicks on, it's pretty freakin' loud. And if it kicks on when I'm in the shower, it sounds like I'm next to a tractor trailer race course...LOL

Congratulations, Rickety! I sure wish we'd got the dual panes. I'm kicking myself on that one. We also had to block off part of the upstairs register. But that's far better than not enough heat from that register, as was the case with our 2001 and 2003 models. I hope you have many years of enjoyment from the new rig. We find the 3400 very livable and I suspect you are finding the same.
