Starting to look

We are going camping for the weekend to Ferndale, Wa. After setting up we are going to Foley's Rv in Burlington, Wa. to look and start getting prices on a 2955 and a 2980. I understand that they have a Costco discount. Then we will check out the prices in B.C. I wish they had a few more dealers in this area

We wish you the best. We just upgraded to a 2980RL and LOVE IT!!! After attending the MOC Rally and seeing so many other Montanas in one place, I don't believe that you could go wrong with any choice, as long as it is Montana.

Congrats Don & Mary Ann. Your choice of the Montana is a good one and the 2 models you have selected are all good ones.

Now after you have made up your mind on the model the fun is just beginning. I would stronly suggest you also take a close look at the following thread.......

This thread is a suggested list of many accessories and a few options you may want to consider adding at time of the order.

Congratulations on your decision to purchase a Monty. You may want to do some research if you are Canadian and planning to buy in the US. When you come back to Canada with your new Monty, you can expect to be hit with a lot of taxes at the border - GST - PST (BC) - Import duties. If you still end up with a better deal in the US, even after coughing up the extra cash to our already overtaxing government, you will want to make sure that the unit you purchase is CSA (Canadian Standards Association) approved. A number of years ago, a friend of mine bought a motorhome in the US and couldn't bring it into Canada because it was not CSA approved. This does not apply to tourists coming here to visit. The CSA designation was clearly shown on the spec sheet of our new 3500RL. I don't know if these rules still apply but it might be worth checking out.
You're going to love the Monty - wherever you purchase it from.

There is no duty because of free trade. We pay gst nad pst plus $320 for a inspection. Costco price is about $14000 off retail

I'm currently living in Bellingham, WA. We ordered ours from Foley RV.
Tacoma RV said they would have matched my price. Foley is closer.
