Still got the plastic pop-in liner from the Dealer. Plug installed forward of drivers side fender.
Interesting...because I cannot fully open my tailgate when hooked up, and because my head usually doesn't fit between the Monty and the bed rail, I don't think I could hook up very well if the plug was behind the fender.

That's odd Brad, I thought that was a big point of the Montana's was being able to lower the tailgate when hooked up, or is that as a result of the new pin box. I can open mine fully and reach the plug from the side also since the front end is curved on the Montana. By the way, you left yourself wide open for "big headed" jokes, but since it is Tuesday, I will pass. Ha!Ha!

Line-X spray liner.
Plug is on passenger side between wheel well and tailgate.
Access tonneau cover behind toolbox.
We're real happy with this setup.
Brad, agree with Bingo, we lower the tailgate to plug-in...

It's a Ford thing guys. Tailgate is a lot taller on a Ford. Between close quarters on the new nose, shorter pin box with the heavier 3400 GVWR, and loosing another 1-1/2" in length with the 5th airborne, the tailgate will only open if aligned PERFECTLY, which is rare for me .

chuck I had the line-X in my 2000 tacoma pickup and was very impressed with it. So I had it sprayed in the 2007 Dodge 3500 and had the plug installed between the wheel well and tailgate on the drivers side. I have had good report for the both of these efforts. Randye.

We have the sprayed in liner and the plug for the 5th wheel is in the bed on the drivers side. We have a 2005 Dodge Ram and a 2006 2950RK which really looks like a 2005 2950RK.

Rhino liner with the plug on driver's side, behind the wheel well (can reach it from the tailgate when hitched), with a Pace Edwards electric bed topper.

Since I usually only keep a truck for 5 years I can't see spending the money on a spray-in bed-liner. I elected to use a rubber mat that is custom fitted to my bed (costs about $79.00). I moved the plug from the bumper to inside the box between the fender and tailgate. This is one of those questions that I always say do what you want it's your truck and your money - do what makes you happy! That said, if I was shoveling dirt, gravel or sand out of my bed I would definitely have the spray-in liner as they do give outstanding protection to the bed.

We have the plastic factory Ford liner and because they had to cut it to put in the rails it now does not lay flat and junk gets under the liner. Not a great thing but we have a extang tonneau cover so at least it stays dry (when not towing). The in bed plug is in front of the left wheel. Being only 5'7" I have to use a step in order to plug it in. Also not the greatest thing but the odds of me growing are pretty remote so I guess I'll have to live with it

I have a Line-X spray cover.
As for electrical plug in it was installed on the driver side forward of the wheels. The company I bought the hitch from did the install without even asking me, it was part of the package. I really like having the electrical outlet inside the box.
