let's take a trip around the Island.......

OK folks, Put that Jimmie Buffet CD in, (I almost wrote tape, but caught myself) Sit back in your comfy computer chair and take a trip around the island with me. Make sure your bike tires are pumped up, slather on the Suntan lotion, because even with the fog that everyone said would burn off, (it didn't) we can still get burned.
We will go to Boomerang Billy's first, the Sandman is there, making one of his Castle sculptures, he's an Australian, talks your leg off, will make you wonder how he ever gets a Castle done. I warn you, it will take 5 beers to get to the end of the sculpture, so we will have one, then go on down Beach Blvd., to the Wanna Wanna to see what's up there. We can get some nice cold water from the insulated 5 gallon jug on the landing.
OK, now we will head back down a mile back to Boomerang Billy's and check on the Sandman...he's still yapping away, occasionally jabbing at the sand mound and blowing the newly jabbed sand with his straw. Maybe we should have a Corona and Lime, it's 2 miles or so back to the end of Texas, (OK, across the Channel at Boca Chica is the end, but we can't bike there, have to go 30 miles or so to Brownsville, then take Boca Chica Blvd. past the Border Patrol checkpoint)
Anyway, we will bike on down to The Dolphin Bay Oyster Bar, and yes, you can see the Dolphin's playing in the Channel.
Be careful biking down there, follow the Ozzman, I know the parking lots, sidewalks and side streets we can traverse to get there safely, besides, I have my air horn I got at a boating supply store, I'll scare the living bejesus out of anyone backing into us.
Ahhhh, we can hear the music from the Oyster Bar now, I'll just snap this picture for you to take to the folks back home.
Yep, this is livin. nice hard seats to keep you awake, great Island (Jimmie Buffet, if you put the CD in) music, cool Ocean breeze.
Hey bartender, how about some of those coozies you keep back there, for my buddies and I???

Thanks for the trip, Jim. It reminds me of Key West. Definitely Jimmy's kind of place.
Happy trails........................

That as close to a winter vacation as I get this year, so at least seeing it is nice. Thanks for the break!

We'll take the fog! And the Corona's with lime! And the warmer weather and the beach and the water! You have a wonderful way with words, Ozz. Sorry to hear that your winter destination park has been sold to be another KOA. Seems that you "repeat campers" should have been grandfathered a little! We love reading of your travels (and the mods, too). Enjoy!

Ozz, what a great trip, wish I was there! When we visited Mexico a couple years ago, a little ole Mexican laughed at us gringos for ordering a lime in my Corona! He said, "Gringo, why you do that?" I said I put it in there to make it taste better! He laughed and said, "Gringo, we put the lime in to keep the bugs out, if you don't like the taste of my beer without the lime, go drink your LITE!" So I switched beers while there and drank SOL, very good and NEVER ever put a lime in one! Just hard to find SOL around these parts. By the way, I also liked the pics of the ceiling!

Ozz, I took Sammy for a 3 mile walk today in 20 degree weather. The snowplows had piled snow in the path that we used and had to practically crawl over it. Your pics make me yearn for warmer weather. I am truly jealous. Some day I will have it...
