I see that you have a Monty that looks like ours, "Montana Mountaineer". I have made a wood cut-out of the shape of ours and my mom the artist (76 Years young), is painting the rest with the same colors of the 5th wheel, depicting the windows, awnings, door, etc. etc. The names, or phrase are put below on a seperate banner. If you want to send me a full side picture of your unit, I can make one for you and have it painted the same colors, or if you are an artist, you can paint it yourself. Cost of the cut-out is postage only. At this time I am trying to see if there is a market for this kind of item. I would post a picture of it, but right now we're in Myrtle Beach for the winter and I forgot it at home.

Giddyup!

We got our sign on line at www.woodsignsofgatlinburg.com. The price was reasonable and we got a really nice looking 5'eer sign with our names and "where we park it" for our home town.

We choose not to have a sign, for many of the reasons stated here, most of all "the knock on the door in the middle of the night when we are groggy and brain not functioning" is a bit over our comfort level.

That said, we have had very little trouble in all the years we have been camping and RVing. We have more trouble with people not caring for their dogs and children in a responsible manner than we have with situtations that made us uncomfy in the safety arena.

As far as Mr. Smith and his friends, been chatted about here before, and you are either for it or against it. Follow the laws, etc. Know the laws too!

And, if you pull into a campground or parking lot anywhere and your hairs on the back of your neck stand on end, and your 6th sense tells you something is amiss, my suggestion is to get out of there as fast as possible.

Agree with others here who said, do what feels right for you. There are lots of units with signs in lots of campgrounds, and a few of us that don't have any.

We spent our honeymoon in Gatlinburg and got a wood sign with our names on it to hang on the house. I don't remember the name of the shop (32 years ago) and the sign has since been tossed after years of weathering. Sounds like a good excuse to make a second honeymoon trip to Gatlinburg and pick one up for the trailer!
