Potential electrical fire item

******* Safety Item ********
I highly encourage you to take a few minutes and open your hyd comp door and locate blue wire on first first resettable DC breaker and inspect for evidence of overheating.
NOTE… your wire color code may be different but you are looking for wire that is on left side of resettable breaker that runs up to junction box inside your pin box.

This wire supplies 12 volts DC to your emergency brake breakaway switch located on outside of pin box.

Yellow arrows show you what wires you are looking for. The wire runs thru a plastic loom up forward to front cap area as shown in pic..it then routes to the pin box area at the metal junction box..

Inspect the blue wires as indicated by yellow arrow for any evidence of overheating

If this wire shorts anywhere to the frame of the Alpine it will draw power non stop until it burns itself in half.

During the course of it overheating it will burn your other wires for turn signals, clean ace lights, etc and will also kill your batteries.

Remove the metal cover on the pin box and inspect inside for any evidence of loose or frayed/overheated wires as shown in pics of my pin box junction bix cover

Note.. you should also be aware there is ALWAYS 12 volts DC present on your RV 7 way cable end plug at pin 4 so keep the RV 7 way connector stored so it doesn’t get wet

Last few images are 12 volt supply wire that burnt up starting at pin box junction box and burnt all the way back to resettable breaker .. RV was 2018 Keystone Alpine.

OP noticed burning smell and batteries were dead.. RV had no turn signals or brake lights..clearance lights still worked

And obviously there would have been NO emergency brake power available
