Unit price varies with unit selected. $600 to start. The new sealed dometics run $1200. I recently had one of the sealed units replaced under warranty. Took two guys 45 minutes to pull the old unit and install the new unit. Same thermostat. For ballpark labor estimate figure two hours labor ($85-$110 per hour) plus service call if applicable ($80-$100).

I had one installed at time of purchase for $750. It does a great job of cooling the bedroom. BUT........it is noisy, and the air only comes out of the ceiling in one direction. I would go for the quietest one you can find, also one which gives you the most options on direction of air flow. Mine has a remote control, and although the compressor is thermostatically controlled, the fan runs continuously unless the unit is turned off. I would rather both the fan and the comoressor go off once the room reaches the right temperature.

In short, I wish I had spent more time looking at the various options available, and would gladly have paid more to rectify the issues described above.

Are you pre-wired for a 2nd A/C? If not, that could add some to the price.

I had Camping World add a 13.5k low profile unit a number of years ago for about $8-900 if I remember correctly. It is a non ducted stand alone unit with temp and fan controls on the unit itself. And like above, it is noisy. We pretty much only use it after travel on a hot day to cool the trailer. Mine was pre-wired.
