Apollo - Broken Door Catch
Ok - the door catch finally broke, & will call the factory for a replacement tomorrow (we're wintering in Texas). My question is, how do I get the door open or case off to replace the latch? The push latch still has the spring return, but something on the door or latch itself is broken. Also, there are 2 screws with star sockets I can't remove on the cover to get at the guts...
Any ideas???

I got hold of those odd screws with a small vise grip to get them started out. Once out, I threw them away.

Where in Texas are you? Mine broke also but I ordered mine last summer and brought it with us so when PO wife asked where is that latch ,I got it out from the belly and tools and went to work. I had very small side cutters and was able to remove the two screws that everyone cusses and when out, round file they went. Apollo sends very good instructions with it. Also for those that are looking for a fuse there is one on the top on the back side,RR looking at the door. Mine is white. They are easy to fix and be sure to read and do what the instructions say about a piece of metal that you might have to bend. After fixing I called them again to get another latch and they said that it was not necessary. As stated on previous posts we like ours very much and[knock on wood] have had no trouble with it.

We had this problem last summer - get the frame off and you can open with a butter knife slid in at the bottom and twist a bit.
We replaced the part and then recently it acted like it was broke again - called Lynn and they said check it probably just came off and sure nuff there it was just had to put it back.
Hope this helps, Laura

For those that repaired theirs BE SURE THAT THE METAL TAB IS BENT SO IT IS STRAIGHT. Other wise you will be doing it over again.

Like Hazmic said, make sure you bend it back straight. I also cut a plastic water bottle cap in hal down through the top to bottom and hot glued it to the metal part so it can't slide off.
