Covid 19 RV Experience
On the mountain, we are preparing to venture out in another month if the snow ever stops. I know Illinois has closed their State Parks. What are your experiences with how Covid 19 has impacted your RV travels? Any novel solutions for dealing with this challenge? I’m sure we can all benefit from this knowledge.

I do not think anyone can predict a month out at this point let alone 1 week. Plan for the worst hope for the best. However I will say here in Washington the former ground Zero the State parks plan to remain open which makes yo wonder why others with much less exposure are closed or closing. The state or WA parks are doing most check ins behind glass or by phone there really is no face to face required, they are cleaning bathrooms more often which is likely their biggest risk (frankly they should close the bathrooms and showers and require campers to be self contained or crap in the woods to help keep park staff safe so they can remain open....
That all I gots to say about that.

No issues camping at private campgrounds in California and no novel solutions to deal with the challenge YET, but will post if we do learn of issues and identify novel solutions. One benefit is camping allows us to social distance.

Just checked and found out Solano County (outside of San Francisco) where we have a home issued a "shelter in place" on March 18 effective through 11:59 pm April 7. The county said a violation or failure to comply with the order is a misdemeanor punishable by fine, imprisonment or both.
So looks like will need to continue camping through April 7 since we do not want to risk a violation.

So far, I'm not changing or altering any upcoming reservations. But, in Indiana, water is not turned on at the state parks until April 1 or after, so those visiting the parks are just day visitors anyway. Indiana State Parks are still open though, and currently, just drive in. Beginning April 1, they start charging entrance fees again.

We're not moving. Many states have closed their parks and some owner owned parks aren't allowing guests in. I just saw that Utah included RV parks along with other forms of lodging that can only allow new guests who are essential to the community. No way to tell how bad it gets from here.

As I mentioned above whereas Washington was the epicenter for the Virus below is the official posture of the Washington State Parks for camping. I applaud them for their commitment to stay open for business...
NOVEL CORONAVIRUS - COVID 19
NOVEL CORONAVIRUS – COVID 19 MESSAGE
March 16, 2020
State parks and camping remain open. In response to Gov. Inslee’s mandate, we are making the following changes to operations through April 30:
Visitor and interpretive centers are closed.
Most special activities and special permits are cancelled.
Planned programming is cancelled.
Group camp and group reservations such as picnic shelters are restricted.
New camp hosts will not be placed in parks. Read more information for camp hosts.
We are taking additional measures to limit visitor and staff interactions at offices and at registration. This includes:
Using drive-up/walk-up windows when possible.
Limiting the number of visitors in an office.
Providing electronic options for purchasing passes and making reservations.
Using automated pay stations, where available.
We ask that all visitors exhibit personal responsibility and take steps to protect their health and the health of others.
As the situation changes, we will continue to follow the governor and public health officials’ guidance when it comes to managing our park system.
Take care!

Washington State Parks is committed to ensuring our visitors and staff continue to have a safe and memorable outdoor experience at your state parks. We are following the governor and public health officials’ guidance as we navigate the COVID-19 pandemic.
Currently, all Washington state parks are open and operating on normal business hours for this time of year.
In the interest of public health, organized talks and presentation at interpretive centers have been suspended.
Where possible, park staff will practice social distancing, using drive-thru check-ins and limiting the number of visitors in park offices. Each park is unique, so practices at each location will vary.
Most events at our parks are canceled until further notice. Check our online calendar of events or contact the park directly to confirm if an event has been canceled.
We will continue to clean park facilities and surfaces regularly. When you visit a park, we encourage you to practice social distancing and good hygiene to protect yourself and others. The state Department of Health provides helpful guidelines we can all use to keep from getting sick.
Your Washington state parks are a great way to get outside and enjoy the spring weather, instead of spending time in crowded indoor spaces. Get some fresh air, take a hike or just enjoy the beauty of Washington at one of our 124 state parks.
Stay healthy and embrace your nature.

Just learned effective today SLO county, where we were camping in Pismo Besch, California, is under a shelter in place so will see if we 3xtend our stay.
Of course, we have beautiful dunes and beach to walk on, horseback riding adjacent to the rv park (if open) and beautiful sunsets and views of the dunes along the beach from the bluff where are camping in Pacific Dunes Ranch.

California state parks have closed.
The SLO County, California, where we are camping, (Pismo Beach), shelter in place is effective for 30 days from March 19 to April 19 but to be reviewed in 2 weeks.
William's, Arizona rv park on highway 40 is closed per our rv park neighbors.

Camp CA we are next door at Paso Robles going to Morro Dunes Sunday. Even with shelter in place doesn't mean you can't go out and walk around and get food and other essentials. We are doing what we always do camping except for eating out, no big deal.

We are taking it day by day on our return to our S&B up north. The worst that can happen is that we stay on our lot in Florida.

Just checked Morro Dunes to see if we can get a reservation and the park advised us it will be closed March 23 - April 13. The rv park we are staying in Pismo Beach (Pacific Dune Ranch) is still open. There are many pull through spaces available. Walking on the beach and dunes daily without restriction.

We will look for you!! Pacific Dunes Ranch camping sites on the bluff offer some of the best views on the California coast overlooking dunes to the west and surrounding mountains to the north and east. If you have an RPI membership the cost is $19 per night with full hookups including 50 ano service and cable TV.

Cross New York State off any travel plans for the foreseeable future. The Gov. just closed everything but essential businesses
Guess my To Do List needs to be dusted off since we can't do much of anything. At least we have toilet paper

We'll be rolling in Sunday unless the campground gives in to the pressure and closes. We have a red Ram and you know the trailer. Hopefully they put us in a view site!

Kansas state parks are still open as of today, but the Corps of Engineers have closed their parks and have refunded reservation deposits through May 15th.

I found a website that is tracking a lot of the campground Status. https://www.campendium.com/camping/c...res-responses/
I also have been in contact with RV Trip Wizard. They are working on adding something onto their app to track closures.

Pa rv parks effectively closed by gov. Saw Marfa tx closed private rv parks as well. Fl state parks closed, so far no effect to private parks.
