Solar Charging Test

Hi,

Purchased 2020 Montana 3790RD with factory installed 265W solar power system.

Unit has been in storage in Reno, NV since early Jan. Took it out to practice 2 or 3 times and disconnected from tow vehicle upon returning to storage. Used auto level without being connected to external power source. Inverter has always been off, and use the battery disconnect switch to disconnect the batteries every time we return to storage.

Well, I guess the auto leveling sucked all the juice out of my two 80AH flooded cell batteries. I have subsequently removed the batteries, charged them, and load tested. Should be good to go.

If I understand correctly, the solar panel should be wired to the charger (which I have yet to locate) and the charger is wired to the batteries, with a remote cable from the charger to the controller inside the coach.

How can I test to see if the solar is actually charging the batteries?

This is my first post here, and I would greatly appreciate any help you could offer.

You charge controller should be installed behind the wall in the basement. In mine there was a sticker showing me what side of basement wall to remove.

Here is a video showing the Jamboni/Montana solar prep. It shows the routing of the wiring and MPPT location.
Once you ID the MPPT charge controller you can look up testing procedure.
