Generator grounding

Morning my learned friends

So I just picked up my HF Predator 3500 watt inverter. Runs nice a quiet! So my question, it has a grounding lug and the manual says it needs to be grounded and talks about a grounding rod. Ya sure, I am going to carry a 6 foot grounding rod where ever I go.

So who has this same situation? Do you ground? To the trailer frame? to earth? Or just don't worry about it? I am thinking that I will for sure ground to the trailer.

And the next question that popped into my head is ground and bonding.

Just looking for some constructive advice.

I have 2 of them in parallel that live in the back of my truck, I do not run a ground to the “ground”. I have used them for years and never an issue or problem.

Same here. Two Hondas and never ran a ground.

The neutral and ground should be bonded. If you do not have an energy management system you probably won't know that you even have a problem if you do not bond them. The risk however is still present. There are several how to threads on the forum. Youtube also has a very quick video on creating a bonding plug.
