Hello from Reno!
We are in the process of investigating the different options available for a 3120RL with the hope of placing an order real soon. Does anyone have any knowledge or schematics of the wiring and plumbing running behind the walls and flooring? It would be nice to know to avoid damaging a hose or electrical with a screw. It seems to be a secret. How about the use of two 6 volt lithium batteries? Any better? We are also considering the residential pkg but keeping the RV fridge and the legacy pkg. Comments??

There are no schematics for the wiring or plumbing on any Keystone product. The only public knowledge is here due to member experience.

I am pretty sure Lithium batteries only come in 12V.

As stated above, there are no schematics available to the public from Keystone for any of their products.

But this much I can advise you on, the walls are not solid, they are an inner core of styrofoam with a sheet of very thin luna wall paneling, held together by an aluminum frame. If you attempt to attach a screw, it will ONLY stay if you hit one of the aluminum studs. Otherwise, they will simply wiggle out and you'll be left with a hole in the wall that can never hold another screw again. If you hit the aluminum studs, you have a better chance of attached objects holding in place. If hanging pictures and such, velcro strips, or double sided tape work much more effective. Now if attaching to the cabinets or such, yes, you can do that.

About your batteries? Why swap them out, unless you can persuade the sales person to install what you want from the get-go. Otherwise, I suggest using the battery that comes originally equipped with the camper and try it out before changing them for the sake of change. Depending on your camping style, they might be perfectly fine.

As far as the refrigerator, your model comes standard with the RV refrigerator. This from the KeystoneRV.com web site for your model:

18 cu. ft. 4-door RV refrigerator (3120RL, 3700LK, 3740FK, 3760FL, 3780RL, 3790RD, 3810MS, 3812MS, 3854BR, 3930FB)

So, you won't have to haggle over that one at lest.

Another word of advise about your upcoming purchase. Don't be too quick to start making changes and don't plan too much ahead.... until you have actually used the camper a time or two (even a driveway camp). From past experience (4 different trailers now) ... it takes a little time to figure out what the natural "flow" of a new camper is. Just like in a house, the lamp on the table really works better on that stand over there. But you realize that only after you've been in the house a while.

Same is true with a new camper. At first appearance, a hook, a shelf, a change might seem right, but after actually using it a time or two, it just would have been better to put it "over there" in the beginning. Just give your camper a chance to speak to you before going in and beating it over the head with your ideas first.

Meanwhile, enjoy the new camper and all the fun and excitement that comes with the initial purchase and honeymoon phase. But remember, in about 6 months after you take possession, the marriage really begins. You'll understand this in about a year!
