Question

Can anyone tell me if the gross weight on the sticker in your RV includes a tank full of water? Thanks in advance.

Gene I believe that the trailers are dry weight no water no propane just as they come off the line at the plant. Roman

That's right, add water, a bit of sewer and most of us are way overweight until we dump. Sorta explains why the axels bend doesn't it??

According to my dealer, it's dry weight(no water, no propane, no personal belongings).

From the RV.net website;
Unloaded vehicle weight (uvw) or dry weight

Weight of the vehicle without manufacturer's or dealer-installed options and before adding fuel, water or supplies.

Wet weight

Weight of a vehicle with full fuel and freshwater tanks.

The UVW in brochures is for the base model all options are extra. The sticker in each individual unit will show the actual weight as it left the factory.
The GVWR, or gross vehicle weight rating is the maximum for the trailer. This is the total weight of the trailer. If you are already there than as Gruffy said, adding water will overload you

GENE,

I BELIEVE THAT THE STICKER INSIDE THE CABINET DOOR HAS BOTH WEIGHTS.
IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY, IT HAS THE UNLOADED WEIGHT (NO LIQUIDS, NO BELONGINGS) AND THEN IT HAS A WEIGHT OF THE WATER (APPROX 8LBS-GALLON) FOR THE WATER HEATER AND FRESH TANK AND FOR PROPANE. THEN IT HAS A MAXIMUM LOADED WEIGHT.
A LITTLE MATH IS INVOLVEED I BELIEVE.
I WISH I HAD IT IN FRONT OF ME, THEN I COULD TELL FOR SURE.

Merv is correct, The gross is the total wet, loaded max rated weight. The unloaded vehicle weight includes fresh water and propane , no other items. In theory the uvw is a rather unique number to each unit according to how it was optioned from the factory. That number is supposed to be determined prior to shippment from the factory using scales.
CCC or cargo carrying capacity is how much stuff You can load. Remember, filling the grey and black tanks takes away available cargo carrying capacity.

The gross weight on the sticker is what the trailer is rated to carry, including the trailer, water, lugage, what ever. The rateing will also include about 20% on the truck, so if you have 2 6,000# axles thats 12,000 + 20% approx. or about 14,400 gross, thats if your tires are rated for it. Gross weight on anything, truck or trailer is rated at the lowest item usually tires.

I have a question concerning the tire weight rating. My 327RKS has a GVW of 11,000#. The tires are supposed to be 225/75R15D which are rated at I think (correct me if I'm wrong) 2330# ea. x 4 for atotal of 9320#. Now my gross dry weight according to the brochure is 7860# before options. I figure after options and my supplies I will be at about 9,000#. The way I figure, load Range D tires are too light for this TT. Am I missing something? Should I deduct my tongue weight?

jh1802,
I cannt help you on the calculations but we picked up our 2005 327RKS about a month ago and all I can say is WOW! We are so pleased with it. My wife and I have been looking for over a year for a unit that would replace our Fleetwood. Wehn we looked at the 327RKS we bought it on the spot.

Jeff, my wife and I felt the same way. We were going to get a front kitchen model till we looked at the rear kitchen model and my wife fwll in love with it. We love the seperation between the kitchen and living room area. I will no longer be in my wifes way while she is prepairing a meal. Kinda like here own little space. We ordered ours with the L shaped couch and the 2 recliners will be in the slide area where the sleeper sofa was. We saw this layout in a 5th wheel and thought it was great.
What do you pull yours with and how does it pull compared to your old TT?

Jay,
The kitchen and living room area is what sold us too. We got the the recliners on the entry side and a sleeper bed in the slider. We asked about the L shaped and they told us at least three months to delivery, we took the one on the lot.

We tow with a 1999 3500 Chevy 454 Vortec crew cab daully. I have put a cold air intake on it, true dual exhaust and a computer programmer/reprogrammer to change engin setting dependent on conditions. Towing the 327RKS is as different as night and day. Our old one was a 30E Fleetwood Mallard and I have to say it just didnt go down the road very well. Yes the 327RKS is heavier, but it rides smoother and doesnt feel like it is fighting me going down the road. We absolutly love it and can honestly say we could see ourselves staying in it for extended periods of time with no problem being very comfortable.

Thanks for the info Jeff. We ordered our 327RKS on Oct. 4 Dealer calledus the other day and said it would be in on Nov. 11 . Got lucky I guess or things are statrting to slow down.
I am glad to here the TT is an easy tow. I currently have a Jayco 302fk and it rides very smooth(has shocks) and tows very well. I was hoping the mountaineer would tow as well or better. I am glad you are enjoying your new TT. I hope you get many years of enjoyment from it.
