Winegards reply on Dome dish and HDTV

Looks like I have to upgrade..

DirecTV broadcasts their HD signals from different satellites than their SD signals. These new satellites are also a different frequency that no dome satellite system can pick up. The only automatic system that can get DirecTV HD is our TRAV’LER SK-3005.

Thanks,
J.D. Hoffman

Can't say I didn't "told you so!"

Or was that somewhere else.

Ozz,
Bought my Winegard Roadtrip SD thinking I had it all. Found out I had half a loaf. Unless I want to blow off another $1300 I need to learn to appreciate what I have.

It isn't easy to know what to do, that is why this MOC group is so great. None of us know all the answers.

I understand that to some it is important to have access to TV and all that it delivers but if you're able, turn it off, unsubscribe and go for a hike, bicycle, walk, swim, anything to keep you moving and healthy (as best you can). For me, I'll sit in front of the tube when I can't move anymore. JMHO. No offense intended to anyone.

You are intitled to your opinion, and I respect it.
I logged over 1,000 on my bicycle on South Padre Island one Winter, still had plenty of time to watch the tube.

We are in that crunch as well. Our dome doesn't get HD. BUT, we have found that most places we are in now have HD over the air or on RV park cable.
