A OK in Minnesota!

For those that know where Albert Lea, Minnesota is we survived the wild ride last night here. Tornadoes were all around us as we sheltered alot of campers. Those that planned on tenting stayed in the cabins or lodges. A large group pulled in and we ushered them into the shower/bathrooms, while at least 20 mulled around the campground office. It was a little hairy but this Kansas couple stayed strong.

Glad everyone is ok! Those storms can be quite scary at times.

I thought that might be near you guys. Tornados don't scare folks from kansas. Glad you are OK.

I am also glad everyone is well. We want to travel the midwest next year but not sure when to go because of the weather patterns in the area......

Phil the saying goes "If you don't like the weather just wait about 6 hours and it will change for you!" You really can't count on any part of the year to be safe here in the Midwest. Winter-- it's freezing temps, snow, ice and wind. Spring-- it's winter melt off and late frosts. Summer-- it's hot and humid and possible bad storms (this year it's rain-- we've had over 8" in the last two weeks-real unusual). Fall-- beautiful weather most of the time but possible early snows. It has been my home for the past 64 years except for the time I was in the USAF and even then I was here at Offutt for almost a year before heading of Okinawa. You just live to adapt here and not worry about it!
OK, back to the subject of this thread. KSGirl glad you all are A OK and the storms skirted you!

Good to hear you and Ray are safe, Coleen! And you thought you got away from tornados when you went north!

Several years ago, friends who lived in San Jose, CA at that time sent us a newspaper picture of a tornado hitting a block from their place. A very small one, but a tornado nonetheless. Just shows tornados know no geographical boundaries!

You know Ron I keep asking my kid why he moved back there. We will be back there in four weeks and I hope the weather calms down before we get there. Glad you guys are ok.
