WAS JUST WONDERING HOW MANY OF YOU ALL WOULD TRADE YOUR MONTANAS IN FOR A NICE BIG CLASS A MOTORCOACH ...Would you or do it or keep your 5th wheel.......just curious

Myself I'd keep the montana and get a "FREIGHTLINER- M2" To pull it with instead of my GMC 3500

I'd probably look at Royal Int'l, Monaco coach... definitely need a MDT for that. I definitely like the dual husband and wife vanities. I believe they start at $166,000 before options and then probably $75,000 to $100K in options.

I would probably not buy a "lot" anywhere in particular, as I would want to be flexible in where I stay... probably stay out of WalMart parking lots.

Probably would follow the lead of a few on this forum who have switched 5vers and still remain active members.

I think I posted this somewhere before... have a fulltime maintenance man and cleaning woman (husband and wife team) follow us in their own TV and TT (fuel and CG fees paid by me in addition to their salary)

I think I'd still prefer a fifth wheel. But then if I could afford all the maintenance costs that people report on their Class As, maybe I would reconsider. And if I had Motosat and could be on the computer while Glen drives....I'd have to give it a second thought.

I'd keep the cambridge but get somebody to drive it where-ever and travel there by private jet.

I am with Dave and Victoria they have the right idea! OHH, I heard you have to play first to have a chance to win. Guess I will be happy as a clam with the Monty for now.

If I bought a class A would I have to stay in Wallyworlds? Our local WM has more class A's free camping then anything else.

I think I would go for a Marathon Prevost Bus conversion. Would get the H3-45 custom built with all the things the way I want them. Let me see I just priced a well equip' bus and the price tag came in at $1,650,000.00 Chump change! Dave, I was just talking with the Carriage factory on the phone who builds Royals International, if I had them build my fifth wheel today with all my options cost would be $216,874.98 The thing that amazes me about Royals fifth wheels, they only come with 2 axles instead of 3. I think with that much weight I would like to have 3 axles. Tenton Homes has 3 on their Royal and Grand models, wonder why Royals went back to 2?

Did someone say "you have to play to win"? Guess that eliminates me from this dream thread.

But just in case, I'd buy a few dozen Montanas with all the bells and whistles including it's own computer/satellite system connected to the internet 24/7/365. Each rig would have it's own TV and driver. They would be positioned around the world and ready to relocate at a monments notice. Than we would travel by private... AWWW what's the point if "you have to play to win"?

But I do like what my old "friend" Dave said..........

Keep in mind that 18 wheelers typically only have 2 axles on the trailer. With the proper axles, suspension and tires you don't need more than 2.

Once again your point out the obvious to me. I guess one could say I over wonder about things. I am so used to seeing semi trailers with 3 axles since that is what the company I work for runs, never really dawned on me to think otherwise. Thanks for keeping me going Glenn. =)

I'll keep my Monty. Hook up some great internet and television automatic setup and then take off. Stop at CW and get all the toys to make life easy. Give all my kids some change and take care of my Mother.

Also, Dave (MontanaSky), Royal does have three axles, I believe, on their Toy Haulers to handle the extra weight of the rear garage and work bench area. Also, that's a little cheaper (but not much) than what I initially roughly figured. I knew their base was $166K. Then I went to their "Option" page w/o my calc and started saying, "OK... I want one of those, one of these...". Prices were ranging from 10K on the "these" to 5K on the "those". I roughly figured an extra $75K. You have about $50K. Then you have the sales tax...

Judy, what's a Motosat? I take it that is a "dome" satellite on top of an RV that automatically tracks your satellite while you are moving? Wow... even if you take corners like I do???

I've been looking at MH for a couple years before switching to 5vers. I really like the room. I was in a $2.5 mil Prevost a couple years ago and they are rather luxurious. I'd probably still go a 5ver... more room. And... unless I could just snap my fingers and have someone jump and fix anything and everything immediately with the coach, I'd really worry about maintenance.

Glenn, what good is money if you can't do something worthwhile with it? That would give me a real adrenaline rush to be able to do something like that for someone. "Old"?

Personally, I would keep the Montana, but I might upgrade to an F-350!

I will say this, though—if I won the lottery in a large enough fashion, I would let my money work for Marsha and I, have both of us turn in our notices while possibly letting a few brats know what I truly think of them, and then start taking more extended travels. Of course, John might have to be homeschooled then!

Of course, I would have to play the lottery first…

i would buy a nice campground,make it have real big pull-through sites nestled in the woods,at least half of them and half in a nice grassy area with a lake so when you look out the rear bay windows you have a beautiful view.Then probably have to work my butt off to keep the place maintained but it would have escorts to your site, free trash pick-up, free cable, free internet,okay quit dreaming, I did not win.

Well, I'm may get stoned for this but, I would give the Montana away and buy several houses on/near golf courses I liked and just move from one to the other. I would have to drive though, Leona doesn't like to fly. She's heard too many air traffic control stories I guess.

Absolutely no to the class A. Been there, done that (class A, not winning the lottery LOL).

A class A is just too much of a maintenance headache, even if you can afford it. All those bells and whistles tend to break at some point. Usually at the worst possible time.

Besides - I wouldn't want to be without a pickup truck and the 5'er allows me to take the truck along. I know I could tow the truck with a big class A, but we are extremely comfortable in the Monty and don't need anything more.

About two months in a grass hut on the beach in Tahiti. That's my lottery dream.

Absofreakinglutely first thing would shut off my phone. And those that showed up at the door, if you were not in my life before the winning...you wont be in my life now. As for the rig. I really love the Mountaineer and I truely bought the truck I wanted. I may dress them up a bit and the sattelite and internet gizmo's would be added. I am not going to tell you it wont change my life. I wont work the way I do anymore. Probably workcamp and travel...a lot. Why workcamp? A person needs purpose. A reason to move forward. Not to mention a great way to meet people.
