Awning Lights

We just put up our awning lights and hooks and was wondering if you need to take the hooks off when rolling up the awning???I sure would not want to damage the awning. What do you do???

I don't hang lights but if I did I surely would remove the hooks before putting the awning up.

For years we had lights hanging from our awning. We used the cloth kind that have S hooks from Camping World. We took the hooks our but left the cloth thing that slides in the awning tube. No problems. I had made the lights with beads and flower pots. When those wore out we went to the tube lighting and love it although it all has to come out before you roll up the awning. We like lights because they are on all the time (ours are on a timer), give you light to come home to but doesn't necessarily announce no one is home.
Happy trails...........................

I saw the rope lighting at Camping World last month that slides into the awning track. Wish I would have bought them when I saw them, guess will just have to wait till next spring. I also put the Malibu pathway lights under the coach to give a nice lighted pathway at night. This works since I leave my coach in the same spot for 6 months a year. Found a pack of 10 with 50' of cable and timer for $14.99 close-out at Lowe's.

I think you better or they will poke holes in your awning. besides how hard can it be to remove them, I put mine in the box with the lights along with the light sensor/timer, and cord.

We take ours down for fear that they would poke a hole through the awnings but I have heard that some people don't, without consequence.

We use the rubber hook holders that slide into the track. Remove the hooks but roll up the rubbers in the awning. No problems so far. Have several sets of awning lights for different seasons.

Some friends have a couple of the solar powered walkway lights that work great and no cords. Just set in the sun to charge them and they stay on until the charge is depleted during the night.
