Monty's Gone
Well folks, we put our Monty up for sale 2 weeks ago and a fellow came by last night and paid his deposit. Seems like we're losing part of the family but it's time to move on. We are looking at buying a 2980 since we're not ready to buy anything larger yet. We camp in a Provincial Park in Ontario every year and it is too tight of a fit for the folks bringing in the 36' units.
We'll wait until Dec/Jan to see if Montana comes out with any new floor plans and then we'll order something. Has anyone heard if Montana will be introducing any new floorplans????

We saw 2 prototypes at the Rally plant tour, However, if memory serves, they were not shorter units.

2980 WOW, is it the RL model?
We love ours it has as much room as G & I need. I dont know if you have children still at home, we dont, just the dog. (Smokey). are you getting the one with the table and chairs or the booth? get the table, you can rotate it, and you dont have to open the slide to get to the frig. good luck . About it being shorter I don't know what you call shorter but the 2980RL from tip to tip is 33feet and 8 or so inches.

Hi Brad,
Congratulations on the sale. As previously mentioned, there were some new prototypes at the plant. I think at least one of them was a smaller unit, so you might want to see what your dealer knows about any new products coming out. I hear the new 3500RL is going into production.

One of the prototypes was the 2955RL. Still the same listed length of 32' {actually mine measured 34'3").
Only major change is it is now 50 amp and a closet was added in the nose for a washer/drier. The clothes closet was shortened and the cabinet in the corner was removed completely.

We have been looking at the 2980RL. It's the triple slide. I was talking to my dealer today and he said the Keystone rep told him there are 4 new models planned and one was in the 29 series. We will wait until the new model floorplans are out before ordering.....just as long as we get it by mid April.
We're still torn on the model. I would like to stay smaller with 29 series because of the size but would prefer to have some of the features of the larger models (ie. TV on a side wall rather than the end). We really liked the 3575 but the shear size of it kept us from making the move. We camp in some places where dealing with 36 or 37 feet is a tough go.
Hopefully Keystone will build a 29 or 30 series that does it all for us.
Thanks everyone for your input. I'll keep the tip of turning the table in mind..that's a good tip.
